CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE

~Jacobs POV~

"Griffin," I warned. "Don't do that. Griffin stop. NOW! Is revenge really that important to you?" Red glowing lines began to trace themselves along his face. "What's the point if you end up dying?"

"Oh please," Griffin spat. "You don't care about me. All you care about is your stupid village," his arms began to crackle with flame. His shirt and blazer were burned away, but thankfully not his pants.

The water around him bubbled and boiled.

I started to run. I needed to get Lily and Angie and get to safety. Wait a second. Where were they?

I spun around, turning back to Griffin. He smiled from ear to ear.

The stone on his red amulet glowed beside the pearls and lines of colours swirled inside it.

Lily and Angelica were in the amulet.

I knew it was possible. My father had once given me a gift from his, pulled it straight out.

All you had to do was wish.

Without thinking, I willed the water to propel me towards Griffin, who was now floating, his arms an legs were extended like a star.

Red swirls and spirals spun around him.

I grabbed the amulet and wrenched at it with all my might. It snapped, and I was left holding it.

Griffin blinked, and when he opened his eyes again, they were pure glowing red. No pupils or irises.

I ran. A fast and as far as I could. I held the amulet in my fist and let the water push me into the centre of the village.

I dropped the amulet and Angie and Lily came out of it, gasping.

I held out my hands, searching my body for all the power I had.

I became one with the ocean.

Water swirled around us, creating a bubble of air within a white water shield.

My could feel my face turn red with effort as I struggled to sustain the magical bubble.

I took a deep breath and it widened slightly. Second by second the bubble got larger and larger, engulfing the whole city.

I gasped, willing it to stay up.

I realized Griffin power was increasing by tenfold every minute.

Suddenly there was a huge explosion. The earth shook, and fire ripped through the water. Some of the water evaporated, but nothing in the swirling bubble. I waited one more minute, to make sure everything was gone, then I let the bubble go and collapsed. Everything went a blinding shade of white.
