Out of Containmemt

Melody's POV

Yomi and I finally came to a stop next to a door that sounded like rushing water. We looked at each other confused and leaned more towards it. Our ears were pressed up against it so we can hear it clearly. We backed away from it, it was locked with a wheel and a handle.

"This could be our way out!" Yomi yelled, jumping up with excitement.

"Yeah I hope so. I don't wanna be stuck in here longer." I agreed with her just wanting to leave.

I put my hand on the wheel and it wouldn't budge. Yomi did the same after I let go.

"Ah! This thing is locked tight. There's no way we're gonna get out of here." She said.

Then we heard a loud crash come from behind us. I turned around slowly with my eyes closed and Yomaira did the same. I heard footsteps and the sound of a gun. 'Shit.' Was all I thought.

"What are you doing here!? This is a containment building, you kids shouldn't be here." A lady in her early 20s asked. I opened my eyes slowly and saw her lowering her gun.

"Come on! We have to get you two out of here." She said ushering us to follow her.

We quickly walked after her but I had a lot of questions to ask her. "Excuse me? But where did you come from?" I asked her.

Silence. "Aren't you gonna answer her?" Yomi asked.

More silence. "She asked a question lady." She added.

"Yeah, the least you can do is answer. We are following you." I pointed out.

Before she had the chance to answer me, I felt a gust of wind and heard the sound of the power going crazy. A loud grunt was heard and an audible clank noise hitting the ground. She was on the ground holding her now bloody nose.

"Are you okay!?" Yomi asked and ran to her.

"No stay where you are!" She yelled holding her hand that wasn't holding her nose out to us. "Stay away from me, I told you kids this area was dangerous and because of your actions, you led it right to us." She said fear in her eyes.

"What is it to be exact?" I put my hand on yomi's arm and pulled her back next to me.

"That's the thing. We don't know. And now we're in danger. What were you two kids doing in here anyway?! This is where we keep creatures that are very dangerous and can kill." She said standing up.

"Dangerous???" I asked. I looked at Yomi confused, 'We aren't dangerous at all. What makes her think we are?" The power went out.

Just then her walkie-talkie went off. "Everyone get to hiding! The assets have been let out of containment. Code red. I repeat CODE RED!"

"Damn it!" She stomped her foot like a five year old. "We have to get out of here, like now." She grabbed my arm and we took off running. We were running past a cell block named Cell Block I. I was hit by a wave of sadness and depression. Yomi and I stopped.

"You feel that too right?" She asked me.

I nodded in response and I walked up to the cell block. By then the lady whose name I still don't know came back to where we were.
