Slamming the laptop closed, I clenched my eyes shut taking deep breaths to try and calm myself.

Heart refusing to stop pounding, I exhaled attempting to push out my frustration with the wind. "Calm down Sang. She can't be this good a person. There's dirt on everyone."

I thought about the first few links that had appeared as I'd searched for Amber Blackbourne.

Violinist Brings Disabled Children Onto Stage During Sold Out Concert!

Winner of 'Be Like Me' Scholarship faints after Blackbourne hands her Award!

Amber the Beautiful!

The last was so irritating that I had spent 5 minutes reading the article. It was 4 pages long, only one picture, and completely full of the author fawning over how beautiful Amber Blackbourne was. How she used her beauty to win pageants, and then donated all the profits to charities. How she was a beautiful person inside and out.

That all was enough to frustrate me, yes, but what really got to me was that not one source had anything personal on this girl. Where was she born? Why was there no mention of her brother--at least I'm assuming Owen Blackbourne was her older brother. Who was she?!

If Wil was here, I'd pout at him until he agreed to get her phone and put a tracker on it. And then he'd do his super tech stuff and I'd have a full file on her by the end of the day.

But that's the problem as well. Wil was not here. And only God knew when that beast would let him back.

I opened my eyes and sat up, deciding I should try to make it to class. A glance at my cell phone screen told me I only had maybe 20 minutes left in this period, but it was a new teacher. I figured I should go to his class at least once.

Something caught my eye and, at first, i was ignoring it. I had looked too quickly to notice exactly what it was other than that it was familiar somehow.

My head swiveled back, my breath catching as I saw Silas smiling down at her. She was leaning up against Silas. I watched as he said something, and she looked up at him. His response was a laugh. It was a real Silas laugh too; he always laughed with his entire body.

I wanted her blood.

I hopped out of Tony and slammed the door, for once not even stopping to whisper apologies to my jeep. As pissed as I was, even Tony was too much of an idiot male for me right now!

How could he?! All that stuff they had said about me being the one and liking me a-a-and Dr. Green had even kissed me!

I clenched my teeth and ignored the pain shooting through my heart as I neared them. His eyes shot up, probably as he caught the sound of my footsteps coming closer.

He straightened immediately and flashed me a seductive grin that lit my insides. I resented the way I warmed internally so easily for him. My eyes roved over to the girl still at his side and I sent her my most fierce glare.

"Hello," she smiled, her hand coming out as if for me to shake it.

Rolling my eyes, I said "Get to class. My followers," i glanced pointedly at Silas and not the girl--I didn't care who she was, I wasn't claiming her.....that is until my voice of reason was back at school and he'd probably talk me into it. "My followers don't miss class, and they aren't late for silly reasons. We have a standard to uphold."

I kept my voice steady though I knew I was being kind of hypocritical since I was out. I also knew my heart was breaking as he stood there, gaping at me.

He stepped closer, his hand outstretched, his smile dimming just a bit. "Aggele, I saw you come out here and thought I could walk you to your next class."

Smooth. Just like Rocky, and Michael, and every other idiot, lying male! My eyes started stinging but darned if I let him see me cry!

"I'm fine." I decided to add one more thing as I brushed past him and intentionally bumped into Amber. "I think you should focus on getting our little Amber to class."

"What, wait, Aggele--" I heard him call out but sped up, not wanting him near me right now.

I wasn't going to class anymore. There wasn't much time left before the bell anyway. So who cared.

I went straight for the gym, as I knew there was no class there at the moment.

Moving into the locker room, I opened a locker that had belonged to my brother when he was a 1. Yes, it was in the boys locker room. But there was no class here so it's not like I'd be caught.

Inside the locker were pictures of Bry and I, as well as he and some of his followers.

A finger touched on his smiling face and a tear drop landed on that of some guy standing to his left.

"I need my family, Bry," i whispered to the still image.

The sound of the door creaking open and feet shuffling inside caught my attention and I quietly closed the locker, and ducked into one of the shower stalls.

"Where the fuck's the locker, the bell's gonna go any minute," a very familiar voice whispered.

Another familiar voice responded, "We're supposed to be silent. This is why you don't come with me on these kind of missions." Luke's voice was entirely amused.

Gabriel responded with a snort and a "Just see if the lazy asshole's left weapons in the locker so we can get Mr. B. off our ass about that prank we pulled on North. I can't do hours this weekend; I'm planning on taking Trouble shopping."

I heard moving, but only one pair of feet. One of them was incredibly quiet as they moved. Ninja feet quiet.

"You really think she's gonna go with you, Gabe? She kind of hates us right now," Luke replied absentmindedly, his voice closer to me than I realized.

He must have been going for a 1's locker.

"Found it," he said before Gabriel had a chance to respond.

I heard creaking and then the door slammed open, the scent of cigarettes quickly filling up the place.

"Shit," Gabriel whispered and the next thing I knew, he and Luke were shoving themselves into the stall with me.

Luke's eyes widened and smiled as he took me in.

"Who the fuck left the locker open," Greg's voice shouted.

Crap.
