Class was boring as usual since Ms. Johnson seemed to know less and less about anything other than what was pre-planned on the curriculum sheet as the year moved on.
I would occasionally answer questions-I loved my spot as the smartest kid in class and was glad with keeping it thank you very much-but even I couldn't be held accountable if I yawned a few times.
Ms. Johnson was a good teacher though at times she seemed easily distracted, nervous even. And sometimes you just wanted a teacher to go off-script, you know?
Like Mr. Kade.
He was a new teacher. According to Jensen who heard from Micky who got her information from Jade who overheard Jay and Rocky talking about it (at least I think that's how Jensen said it; I hated the Ashley Waters grapevine, its always so easily confused), Mr. Kade was from the Academy that the Academy Guys had come from.
Jensen said that Mr. Kade was seen going into the gymnasium the other day after school with those guys and the new assistant principal, DeSoto I think his name was.
The word going around the school was that all of them were from the Academy which was currently being hailed by Ashley Waters students as some new school for rich kids that only took kids whose parents were rich enough to dine with the POTUS and that, at the Academy, all the students had to have a certain type of blood type and facial symmetry, etc. It's how the girls were explaining why it seemed every guy that was from the Academy was so good looking.
I felt my face heat up as I realized that, yes, I did think those guys were hot.
I'm not sure exactly how many people know I'm gay, but I know that I told Wil last year. Wil Winchester, Sang's 2nd, used to be one of us-a follower-and he was quiet and a bit of a nerd too. I think Wil was here when Bryan was still a 1 and that's how he and Sang got so close.
Rumors are always going about those two.
I think the most current one is that Sang and Wil slept together, but he found out he was gay. I doubted it, but I was proved correct when-after a bullying incident-I broke down into hysterics and told Wil of my sexual orientation.
Not very flamboyant, and never having been the type to call myself a girl no matter how effeminate I might be, Wil admitted he hadn't even thought of me being homosexual. But he also assured me that Sang wouldn't have a problem with it. I'm not sure if he told her or not, though after her little stunt this morning, I was getting surer of that fact.
She'd paired me with Jensen DiLaurentis! The most to die for guy at Ashley Waters and she made it so that I actually had to be with him most of the day.
On one hand, that was definitely not a hardship. On the other, it was a disaster waiting to happen.
He was way too cute and popular to be gay, which means I was setting myself up for heartache just being his friend. With the increased exposure, it would be even worse.
I'd never be able to keep my feelings to myself if I had to talk to him more than I did now. Even now, when I was barely able to keep up a conversation as his friend, it took a lot of effort at times to keep me from just blurting out how good looking he was when he would flick his hair away from his face. Or when he was simply leaning up against a locker with the strap of his bookbag clinging in his hand, his muscles easily visible through the tight t-shirts he seemed to love wearing so much. Or the jeans that encased rock hard thighs-oh God!
