"Alex, lets goo" Kelley yelled, banging on the door. Alex got up, careful to not wake Tobin. Music was playing, the song was Roses by the Chainsmokers.
Alex kissed Tobin on the forehead, then got dressed, going out the door.
"Hey Al, hows Toby?" Pinoe asked, running in line with Alex.
"Tobin? Oh, she's better. Still sore, but better. She says its not that bad" Alex said, continuing the run.
Pinoe didn't answer at first. She knew Tobin wasn't in great condition for soccer, or any type of ankle movement.
"Thats good. We need her back as soon as possible" Pinoe said, then turned to everyone else. "Hey anyone seen Ellis?" She called out.
"No" Everyone answered.
Back at Tobin's Room
"Tobin, I'm sorry about yesterday. I didn't know that you were actually injured" Jill said.
"Its okay coach, I understand" Tobin lied. She didn't understand this woman. How could she say that? It wasn't true of course, but to have the nerve to say that? That was ridiculous.
"I don't know what got into me. I really am sorry Tobin, I hope you understand" Jill noticed Tobin wasn't happy with her.
"Its fine, really. It doesn't really matter. It would've happened anyway, and you just happened to be on the other end of it" Tobin shrugged. Jill nodded, and after another apology, she closed the door and left.
Tobin groaned and limped back to the bed.
"Bull. Thats bull" Tobin said bitterly.
Later before dinner, Alex returned to the room.
"Hey Tobin, how're you holding up?" She asked, quickly kissing her, so only their lips touched.
"Eh. Jill came to our room this morning to apologize. It wasn't very sincere though, and I was kinda done with hearing her voice" Tobin said, then cleared her throat, adding. "I wish I could go play with you guys. Its killing me just sitting here and doing nothing all day"
"You should come watch us train then. I think it will do you good" Alex said.
"Okay, I don't really like sitting inside all day anyway" Tobin sighed, but she knew that it would be hard to handle herself near a soccer ball and the field.
That night, Tobin couldn't sleep, she was just too sore, so se decided to take the pain medicine she was subscribed.
"Tobin, what is that you're taking?" Asked Alex.
Alex to know.
"Pain medicine. Its no big deal" Tobin said warily. She was pretty hurt, but didn't want Alex to know that.
"Really? No big deal? Tobin you're white as a sheet" Alex got up, and hurried over to Tobin.
"Im fine Lex" Tobin smiled.
"No you're not. You're biting the inside of your cheek. You do that when you lie" Alex said, raising a brow.
Tobin immediately stopped biting the inside of her cheek.
"Tell me whats really up with your ankle" Alex placed a hand on her hip, waiting for an answer.
"Its nothing too serious. Just an injury I can get back from" Tobin said, swallowing the pill with water. "You shouldn't worry Lex" Tobin patted Alex's shoulder, then limped to bed.
Alex knew Tobin was avoiding the subject about how hurt she really was, but didn't want to push it. Instead, she sighed, crawled into bed next to Tobin, and fell asleep.
