Tobin was just sitting at the desk in her and Alex's room, waiting for the text from Hope saying they've found the traitor.
Nothing.
Tobin waited, not wanting to move nor eat nor drink.
She stared at the wall.
"Tobin, you've been like that for over two hours. Are you okay hon?" Alex asked, checking Tobin for a fever with her lips.
"Fine" Tobin mumbled.
"Lies" Alex said.
"What" Tobin shrugs. "Its for your safety"
"Not knowing the truth is for my safety?" Alex placed a hand on her hip. "I want to know the truth"
"I'll tell you when I know it myself" Tobin said.
The door opened, and Tobin's head shot toward it like a rocket.
"Anything?" Tobin asked, holding her breath.
"Nothing. No one knew a damn thing" Hope threw the notepad on the ground.
Tobin frowned.
"Who did you question?" Tobin asked.
"Our teammates. They didn't know a bloody thing" Hope growled in frustration.
"Thanks for trying. I'll get Kling to check the staff" Tobin said, and a name was etched in the back of her head.
It was Jill. It had to be. Tobin's mind shot out.
"Tobin, lets not jump to conclusions" Alex said, somehow reading Tobin's mind.
"I bet it is. I bet my life. And I'm going to do the questioning next. Forget Kling" Tobin said, very sure of herself.
"After you eat and get some rest" Alex said, draping her arms over Tobin's shoulders. Tobin nodded and hopped into bed. "What about the part where I said eat?"
"I'll eat breakfast in the morning" Tobin yawned, dozing off.
When Tobin woke up again, it was early morning, possibly four in the morning.
Looking over and seeing Alex asleep, Tobin got up and went to go get breakfast.
She took the stairs this time, trying to wake up.
Towards the bottom of the stairs, she heard whispering.
Making her footsteps silent, she got closer.
More whispering.
Getting even closer.
"I told you that they would catch on" It was the Mystery New Yorker.
Tobin's heart pounded.
"Just be happy I bailed you out of jail, idiot" A familiar accented voice said.
"Without me you can't get anywheres in your plan" He said.
"I could do it myself" Jill growled.
"So you don't want me to help?" The man asks, taking steps.
"I do. Your resources are very...intimidating. Its good" Jill said.
"Well I might just leave anyway" The man said, and I hear a door open.
"Rolland. Stay here or you don't get paid and I take you right back to the police" Jill said in her quiet threatening way.
"Fine" Rolland said.
"Tonight. Do it tonight. Here's the key" Jill said urgently.
Tobin shrank back a second.
"I will. You better have my money" Rolland growled, and she heard the door slam.
Jill sighed, leaning against it, and Tobin started to climb back up the stairs, in disbelief, but eager to tell Hope and Alex it was Jill.
Getting to her room, Tobin ran into the room, and saw Alex just waking up.
"Alex!" Tobin said, closing the door.
"What?" Alex asked, rubbing her eyes from sleep.
"It was Jill. I saw it. I heard it" Tobin ran to Alex, wincing at the pain in her back.
Tobin grabbed Alex's hands.
"I knew it Alex. It was Jill who let them in, it was her all along. Everything" Tobin blurted.
Alex frowned.
"Its just her?" Alex asked.
"Yes" Tobin said, then hesitated. "I mean, maybe. No. Probably. Yes?" Tobin argued with herself.
"Tobin, you're absolutely positive its Jill" Alex asked.
"Why would I tell you its Jill if it wasn't?" Tobin asked.
"Because Hope came in here yelling it was the trainers" Alex said.
Tobin stared off into space.
It was multiple people?
