Tobin opened the door to the apartment, and Alex knew it was her, but she kept staring out the window.

"Alex-" Tobin began

"Please leave" Alex cut her off.

"But just let me explain-" Tobin tried to talk again

"No!" Alex yelled. "No" She said again more calmly. "You explained everything to Kelley. Its okay, you can go date him. Its okay" Alex was done crying. She didn't want to cry, and she didn't have any tears left.

"But I love you Alex!" Tobin hurried, knowing Alex would try and cut her off again.

"And you love him!" Alex got up, turned around and yelled it. "Tobin I don't have time to share you! Time is running out for you, and its just about up!"

"But Alex what about us?" Tobin asked, almost going to cry.

"Thats the same thing I asked you" Alex laughed. "But you deflected it, because you were too worried about Tyler" Alex shook her head in disdain at Tobin. "Just friends" She laughed. "Bullshit Tobin. Thats bullshit"

"You don't get it do you?" Tobin asked.

Alex waited to hear what she had to say.

"The way you make me feel, how afraid I am to loose you, it all doesn't matter to you. Does it?" Tobin asked.

"If you were so worried about loosing me, then why'd you go ahead and kiss Tyler? Do I even matter to you? Do we even fit?" Alex asked.

"Of course we do Alex" Tobin said, voice cracking.

"I don't believe that we do. Not anymore" Alex whispered.

"Alex..please. Give me another chance" Tobin had no control over the tears falling down her face.

Alex hated seeing Tobin cry. She wondered how someone so strong could cry.

"If you cared about me..you wouldn't have done it in the first place. I just couldn't believe it when you left, and when you told Kelley. Do you know how long I cried? How long I thought I wasn't good enough for you? Am I good enough? Huh Tobin? Am I doing something wrong?" Alex asked, and Tobin's tears were falling freely. Not even she tried to stop them.

"No, of course not. You never could do anything wrong" Tobin cried.

"Then why'd you do it?" Alex asked.

No answer.

"Dammit Tobin! Why did you fucking kiss him if you love me!" Alex asked.

"I don't know" Tobin said, looking down.

"Fuck! Thats bullshit! DO you know how many times I could've said that and no one gave a shit? A ton! SO why should I react any different?"

Tobin was speechless.

"How do I know you even love me?" Alex asked.

Tobin knew that it was over. Nothing could stop them from breaking up, but she had to tell Alex one last thing. She pulled out the ring box that had been in her pocket for a couple weeks.

"I got this for you" Tobin said, opening it up, displaying a beautiful diamond ring. "I got this before the press conference. Tyler and Syd helped me pick it out for you" Tobin smiled at the box. "I remember when we were at the park that day, and I wanted to propose, but I thought Christmas eve would be better"

Tonight was Christmas eve.

"But I didn't know we wouldn't make it that far" A tear fall on the box. "Just remember Alex, I still love you. I'm still here, just in case you still want to marry me. Because I would marry you right now. Even during this fight. I'd still leave everything and have a life with you" Tobin bit her lip. "I used to think about children, and getting a pet. I still think about a wedding for you. How you would look in a wedding dress, but I know you'd be far more beautiful than my imagination" Tobin set the box down. "Just remember Alex. I love you"

And that was it.

Tobin left the apartment, and vowed if Alex didn't come back to her, she wouldn't talk to Tyler again, and she wouldn't ever trust her heart with anyone.

It was over.
