Tobin's POV

We hurried to the place Alex was supposed to be. Sure enough, there was Servando. I saw him through the window.

"Theres the bastard" I hiss. Lauren elbows me to shut up.

There are more guys in the house.

Servando waves to me.

What a lunatic.

The SWAT team goes in, and I heard heavy gunfire.

I begin to inch towards the house, hoping Lauren doesn't notice.

"Tobin, what do you think you're doing?" Lauren asks.

"Going to find Alex" I break into a run, and hurry behind the SWAT team.

Alex is supposed to be in the basement. I open doors.

Closet, nope.

Room, nope.

Stairs, yes!

I dart down them, turning on a light.

"Tobin!" A familiar raspy voice shrieks.

She saw me before I saw her. And when I looked at her, I didn't recognize her.

I was too happy.

My stomach went to the moon, and my heart soared with joy.

"Alex" I cried, and then hugged her. She cried out.

"My back.." She let a tear slip.

I roll up her shirt, then grimace.

"No.." I say as I look at the fresh marks.

"Get me out of here" Alex sobs, and I do just that, and don't waste any time either.

"Not so fast" Servando growled and threw Alex out of my arms. She cried out in pain when she landed on her back.

"Get out of here Servando!" I scream at him. Who does he think he is? "Don't you know when people don't want you around? Or do I have to tell you?"

"Tobin you could've just let me keep Alex and none of this would've happened" Servando said, and he has a bullet wound in his shoulder.

I target that wound and punch it, hard. My knuckles have blood, and he yells, gripping his shoulder.

"Go to hell" I tell him.

"If I go, you're going with me" He says, then jumps onto me, pinning me down.

I hear the police, and Servando grips my throat.

My lungs choke for air, my body screams out. I dig my nails into him, he just grimaces and keeps pushing down, choking me. I see black spots on the edge of my vision. Everything is getting cloudy. I hear Alex screaming, and hitting him. He doesn't budge.

His snarl is the last thing I see.

Alex's POV

The police shot him.

I didn't hear the gun, I just saw a red splotch on his side growing bigger by the second, then he collapsed on Tobin.

I shove him off, and check on Tobin.

Her pulse is very slow.

"Tobin?" I whisper, her pulse slows down. Tears burn my eyes.

No.

Not her.

I can't loose her.

Please dear Lord not her. Anyone but her.
