"Tobin!" Alex yelled.
Tobin had just got out of the shower.
She put shorts on and a sports bra and ran out, hair soaked.
"What?" Tobin said, worried.
She followed Alex's gaze to the TV screen.
"New Jack the Ripper? A man in the city murdered a woman by the name of Alexis 'Alex' Ursuline last night sometime around two in the morning down by Jesuit hall in southern Georgia. Police are still looking for the killer. If you have any information, please contact the police" The spokesman said.
Tobin was shaking.
Alex.
Was it a coincidence that this woman's name was Alex? Or was it fate? And who is the cold-blooded killer?
"Its nothing. Things like this happen all the time" Tobin said, trying to reassure Alex and herself.
"Police say the same man had murdered another woman, named Alex Jackson" The spokesperson said again, not helping Tobin's point.
"What does this guy have against women with the name Alex?" Tobin asked, turning the TV off.
"I-I don't know" Alex stuttered.
"Well its a good thing we're leaving Georgia now" Tobin said, making her way back to the bathroom to dry off.
"Yeah" She heard Alex mumble.
When they got back on the plane, Tobin held Alex's hand the whole time, just waiting for Servando to pop out of the pilot's area.
He never came.
"Tobin, you okay? You're stiff" Alex asked, moving Tobin's aching arm.
Tobin shrugged.
"I have to tell you something" Alex said.
"Okay, what is it?" Tobin asked.
"So coach kicked me off the Thorns, and I got drafted for Orlando Pride" She bit her lip.
"No.." Tobin said. "You're lying"
"Not lying" Alex said, lip quivering.
"Shit" Tobin mumbled.
"Maybe you could try for Orlando?" Alex asked, putting ideas out there.
"Alex...I'll try, but I don't think I'll be able to. They've already got a left mid" Tobin said, holding her hands to her face.
She didn't know how to react. Alex would have to leave for Orlando.
"Tobin" Alex said, a smile creeping on.
"What?" Tobin asked, confused as to why she was smiling.
"I'm joking" Alex grinned.
"You little-" Tobin started, but Alex laughed and fit her mouth against Tobin's.
Tobin grinned at her.
"I love you, you little windbag" Tobin laughed, pushing Alex's shoulder a little.
"Whats a windbag?" Alex laughed.
"You. Thats what a windbag is" Tobin laughed, knowing she made no sense.
"Hey Tobin, look at me" Alex said.
"What?" Tobin asked, searching her eyes for what she was doing.
Then Alex stared into Tobin's eyes without saying anything, wearing a neutral expression.
"Um.." Tobin started to question, but Alex put a finger to her lips.
So Tobin, not knowing what to do, returned the stare, looking deep into Alex's blue diamond eyes.
Alex took in every bit of detail of Tobin's eyes.
"Are we just staring at each other for no reason or what?" Tobin asked, grinning.
"I'm trying to focus on what to do with makeup on you" Alex said.
"OH NO! NO NO NO" Tobin instantly yelled, then cupping a hand over her mouth, a little embarrassed on the attention she drew.
"Why not? It'll be fun!" Alex grinned, grabbing Tobin's hands.
"How about no" Tobin said.
"Can you please think about it for a second?" Alex asked.
Tobin pretended to think about it for half a second.
"Let me see....no" She quickly said, laughing. "I am not letting you near me with makeup"
"But I'm good at makeup" Alex whined.
"And I'm good at the monkey bars on the play ground" Tobin teased, nudging Alex.
"Okay, but one day you'll wake up with makeup, and you will look even more gorgeous than you already do" Alex said, looking out the window of the plane.
"You better not" Tobin said.
"Or what?" Alex asked, clearly testing Tobin's authority.
"Or I'll..." Tobin started, trying to think of a 'punishment'. "I'll tie you to the bedpost"
"And you'll do whatever you want to me?" Alex asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Shut it Morgan. Don't push your luck" Tobin winked.
"Will you guys keep it down? The way you flirt is shameful" Syd said, grinning, but serious.
"Oh Siddy, you love us" Alex said.
"True that, but she probably loves her reflection more" Tobin chuckled.
"Who wouldn't love this gorgeous face?" Syd teased, then flashed a smile.
Syd returned to her seat, and Alex and Tobin grinned at each other.
"What?" Tobin asked at last.
"I don't know" Alex said, then they both started to laugh uncontrollably.
This reminded Tobin of the times she was a little kid and she and her siblings or friends would laugh for no reason.
"We are such children" Alex laughed, trying to catch her breath.
"You're damn right we are! And we're the best kind of adult children there is!" Tobin said in a western voice, and that made Alex laugh even harder.
"Tobin, I think we're the only adult children there is" Alex laughed.
"True that" Tobin laughed. "But we're special"
"Very" Alex grinned.
A/N
Okay I hoped you liked that chapter. Tell me how you felt. I will try and do what you want, you just have to comment it. SO YEAH. Did you like it? I kinda did, but it was short. Please keep in mind that some of my chapters will be short, and some will be long. They all usually lead up to something big that happens..so bye.
