The 3 walked into another inn, Hāmonī with her hat, Minto in her basket, and Yuri in her new, non-burned, kimono. The innkeeper gave them a room for 5 silver pieces "Highway robbery" Hāmonī thought, but it was a reasonably clean room, so she didn't protest.
Hāmonī sat on her cot, the half moon draining her powers like water from a leaky bucket. She could almost feel her hair turning black, her eyes brown, her claws dull. She hated this feeling of terrible helplessness every single month. It irked her, being unable to defend herself. She snapped out of it quickly as Yuri walked in.
"So," she said cautiously "You're a human now?"
"Yup," she said sarcastically "One full night of complete weakness. Yipee."
Yuri cast off her shyness "You're only human." she replied "it's not that bad."
"For you maybe," she shot back, suddenly angry at this small child "But for me it's everything. And more."
Yuri rolled her eyes "Whatever you say, O powerful demon. It's time for dinner."
Muttering to herself, she swept out of the room, her hat barely managing to stay perching on her head.

Hāmonī ate her dinner in cold silence, hoping to be left alone. Of course, it wouldn't work out that way.
A few members of the local authority marched into the room, silencing it immediately. The leaders eyes searched the room, scanning each member, locking on Hāmonī. He cleared his throat.
"We've heard" he boomed eyes still locked on Hāmonī "Of a certain demon attacking travelers. We believe this demon is among you." A gasp rose up from the crowd, and Hāmonī gritted her teeth. Wonderful. Just fabulous. The one freaking day-.
The leader interrupted her thoughts "You" he pointed at Hāmonī "Remove your hat."
"Outrageous!" she cried, deciding to act "One cannot even eat dinner in peace these days!" She whipped off her hat, her long black hair curling over her shoulders, but her rant continued. "Do you know how long it takes to put this hair up? Forever! And now that it's down it will catch in every thing and it will smell for weeks. Weeks I tell you! And the disturbance to my poor heart, my meal... how could you?"
The leader apologized many times and offered to pay for her dinner. After she had cooled down a little, she finished and returned to her room. "No more inns" she told Yuri and Minto. "We'll buy supplies in the morning and camp." They nodded, understanding the close call. Hāmonī went to bed, uneasy thoughts confusing her until she finally fell asleep, exhausted.
