Hāmonī leaped up the mountain, trying to catch up to Koga. Down below, she could here calls of alarm and the whish of an arrow leaving a bow. A small grin grew on her face. It seemed Kagome was helping out in the fight.
She shook the thought out of her head. Concentrate, Hāmonī, she thought, speeding up. You have a battle to fight.
She had only gotten a little more headway up the mountain when she heard her brother's voice call out "Kagome!" followed by the sounds of slicing as he killed whatever was endangering her. Now he comes? Just when she thought she was going to have a good battle. But anyway, she needed to focus. Tuning out any sound, she continued running.
Despite Koga's speed, Hāmonī managed to catch up with him. She saw him start to open his mouth mouth, and cut him off qiuckly "Don't. Even. Try. To stop me." She said, and heard his mouth close with a click.
Suddenly, Koga stopped. Hāmonī skidded to a halt, glancing down at the empty battle field below. Miroku's work, she assumed. "That mutt-face... what a time for him to show up," she heard Kogamuttered. "Yeah." she sighed dramatically "Just when I was starting to have some fun." He gave her a scowl and she grinned in return, starting up the mountain again. Either the wolf demon would catch up to her after his nice chat with Inuyasha, or he wouldn't.
She honestly didn't care.
Sure enough, as she was nearing the top of the mountain, who caught up to her but Koga, with her brother hot in pursuit. She and Koga stopped on a ledge, in truce for now, glancing around. She spotted something in the clouds. "Koga!" she called, and jumped up. Koga jumped too, narrowly avoiding the jaws of the monstrous bird of paradise.
She saw Koga trying to hold its jaws open with his spear. Before she could call out the thing's mouth snapped the spear, narrowly avoiding snapped Koga's arm along with it. As the bird dragged him up in the air, she sprang, smashing the bird's tooth and freeing and freeing Koga's arm.
They plummeted toward the top of the mountain, Hāmonī landing gracefully, Koga not so much. She glanced at him, assessing. He'd lost the shard in his arm. That wouldn't do. They couldn't afford that.
"Give me your hand," she said to Koga. She rolled her eyes as he stared at her uncomprehendingly, and grabbed it herself. It was slighting larger than her own hands, calloused from hard work. She shook that out of her head, and concentrated. The tingling feeling once again gathered in her eyes, and her golden shield swept Koga, encasing him in its protective grasp. Slowly, she dropped his hand.
She felt exhausted. Put all that energy into not only her shield but his... far too much energy. Her vision was going hazy as she heard Koga say "I owe you one." She glanced at, her vision fracturing "You don't need to fight the bird," she said, her voice sounding like a thousand echoes. "I can hear my brother's footsteps" She looked into his blue eyes. "Mind catching me?" she made out, before slumping into unconsciousness.

Hāmonī shot awake, and sat up quickly, surrounded by her team. Kiyōna jumped up, giving a little shriek, and Akihiko spit out the piece of fruit he was eating. Yuri was the first to get over her shock. "Hāmonī!" she squealed and hugged her. Hāmonī let out a slight 'omph' as the overenthusiastic girl squeezed her.
Minto padded up to her slowly. "Are you alright?" the cat meowed, concern tinging his voice. "I'm alright," she replied softly, rubbing her head. She then looked up at the others. "Are you guys ok? What happened?"
Akihiko was the first to reply "Well... we arrived with Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Kirara," he started off shyly "And we didn't go after you, because we knew you probably would want to defeat the demon yourself." Hāmonī nodded. Understandable.
Yuri took up the story "So after a while, Inuyasha destroyed the demon and you, Kagome, and that demon-wolf-guy came down on Kirara. The wolf guy was holding you up because you were unconscious. You all slipped off Kirara and Inuyasha said something about finishing something off or something and Kagome started to argue with him."
Minto continued "I had gone over to check on you, and while I was over there and Inuyasha and Kagome were fighting, Koga whispered to me that he needed to "pay off a debt" and to have you meet him when this was over. Then when Inuyasha started to attack him Kagome told him to sit and Koga and his pack made their escape."
Kiyōna butted in to the story "So Kagome and Inuyasha had another argument and then Kagome flew off on Kirara. We said we were going to take you to a village to get you a healer, and we tracked the wolf demons. We're on the outskirts of where they're camping now!"
"Ok," Hāmonī said, rubbing her stomach "We'll meet with the demons. After breakfast!"

Guten Tag, my Apprentices!
Spring sports is starting up next week, but I'm not quite sure if I want to change my update days to Thursday, or keep it at Friday. I suppose it all depends if they interfere with practice. So if my schedule's messed up, that's why.
Have a good Easter, eat lots of chocolate!
