Hāmonī whipped toward the sound of the voice, drawing her knives. It was soft, and she couldn't tell if it was a male or female voice.

Nothing was there. She  must have imagined it... she stared at her hair, blowing in the wind, lost in thought...

Wait.

Her hair. It would suddenly stop in mid air and not continue going. Someone was their and invisible. Lighting fast, she grasped at that spot, digging in her nails. She had the weirdest sensation of watching the tips of her nails disappear.

The owner of the voice yelped, and Hāmonī could tell now that it was a male voice. The voice said quickly "Okay, I'm sorry for being invisible! Here, I'll change back." With a soft pop, a demon appeared. Hāmonī took in the demon, who was only slightly taller than her, with short coal black hair and ice blue eyes. He was wearing a festive kimono, white with green leafy patterns outlined in blue.

She also noted the cat ears that poked out from his messy hair and the thin black tail that poke out the the kimono. Finished her visual examination, she took in a deep breath and scented that she had been off a little. Half demon, not full.

While she was doing her examination, Kiyōna had sidled up beside her. The girl puffed up her chest and asked "What do you want?" As threatening as the words would have sounded on Hāmonī's lips, the green skinned girl made them sound slightly pathetic.

The demon seemed to understand though. He smoothed his hands on his kimono and looked down shyly "I-I was wondering if you knew h-how to make a fire rat coat. I was hunting for some myself. I just don't know how to make one, and I thought you might. I'm s-sorry if I startled you.

Kiyōna tip-toed up to reach Hāmonī's ear "We could show him how to make one," she whispered. When Hāmonī raised her eyebrows, Kiyōna replied with a giggle "He's kinda cute." she answered toHāmonī's unspoken question. Hāmonī saw the half demon blush a bright red. She smirked. The guy had good ears.

She andKiyōna turned back to the half demon. "Fine." was her short reply. "But only if you're willing to help." Another two hands would make the job easier. He gave a shy smile in return. "Thank you." he said, pouring his gratitude into his voice "My n-name is Akihiko, by the way."

Hāmonī nodded "My name is Hāmonī , and this is Kiyōna." Akihiko nodded back and he followed them as they headed back toward the camp.

Minto stood up immediately when the three walked in. "Who is this half demon?" Minto asked calmly, but suspiciously. Kiyōna reassured him "That's Akihiko. He's here because he wants to learn how to make a fire rat coat.  Hāmonī said he could come."

Minto looked at her questionly.  Hāmonī shrugged. They need all the help they could get to make this.  Hāmonī wasn't the best weaver.

Hāmonī clapped her hands, getting everyone's attention. "This is going to take a while. Let's get to work."

It was well into the night before the coat was finished. It wasn't perfect, but it would do. Hāmonī stretched and sighed looking around. Only Minto was still awake. Kiyōna was the first to pass out, followed by Yuri. Akihiko had stayed up valiantly helping until about an hour before.

Hāmonī didn't blame them. Weaving was tiring.

With that thought she let out an earsplitting yawn. She knew she should stay up for watch, but...

Minto, knowing what she was thinking, smiled. "Go to sleep," he said softly "You need rest." Not wanting to argue, Hāmonī pulled out a bedroll, and dropped off to sleep...

...And was woken up by a loud roaring sound. Her eyes popped open groggily. Akihiko was up already, and was viciously attacking a snarling band of fire rats. His claws were flashing everywhere with great speed, flexibly dodging attacks. He could dispatch a rat with a single blow. Hāmonī had barely even untangled herself from the bedroll before Akihiko was dispatching the last rat. The half demon was panting heavily, surrounded by the dead fire rats. Hāmonī could see that Minto, Yuri, and Kiyōna were staring at Akihiko.

He smiled sheepishly "I... don't like being woken up by loud noises." he muttered.

Hāmonī surprised herself by giving a light laugh. "That," she said with a grin "is an understatement. Care for some breakfast?"
