Hāmonī, Inuyasha's Sister ( inuyasha fanfic)

Chapter 23: Back to Inuyasha

  Hāmonī and Koga were back to back, fighting like a well oiled machine. Hāmonī knew she should give her total focus to the battle, but she couldn't help noticing Koga's back pressed against hers, his hair occasionally brushing her neck.

Dang it, emotions, she thought testily. We don't have time for this right now.

As she finished berating herself, she noticed an ogre about to land a hit on Koga. Her knives flashed out, and the orge hit the ground without a peep. It was then she looked up and noticed a club coming toward her...

Until is was shattered by a furious kick from Koga. She grinned at him in thanks, and the battle continued. She fought almost mindlessly, blocking and striking blows with  barely a thought. Above she could she flashes of Arashi fighting, with an interesting combination of ice, wind, and blood magic.

And her katanas. She was good.  

She was low on magic, and had to drop the shield protecting her and Koga. It was annoying, but she didn't want to pass out again. Not in the middle of a battle, especially when the number of enemies was so high.

Hāmonī was about to kill another ogre when a thorny vine wrapped around it's neck, finishing the job for her. "Kiyōna?" she called, and with a flash a jade green hair she knew that Kiyōna had joined the fight. Just in the nick of time, she thought. We're almost done here.

"Hāmonī!" a voice cried, and she was shoved to the ground as a club whistled over her head. She turned to see who it was, and came to to nose with Koga. He was breathing heavily, and staring deep in toHāmonī's eyes. "Are you okay?" he said softly, and she just nodded, not trusting herself to speak. He was so close... she could feel his shallow breaths on her cheek...

Then she noticed a club whirling toward them. She grabbed Koga and rolled over, the club narrowly missing them. Now she was the one staring down at him. She swallowed. "A-are you okay?" she asked. She could feel herself turning a pale pink from being so close to him, and noticed his ears had a redish tinge too. "I'm... fine." he replied, and they both stayed there, catching their breathing.

She could hear voices behind her. "They look like a couple, I'm not going to to lie. So are they together?" "Haha, no, Arashi, they are not. Not as far as I know." "But Akihiko, they're cute together! And that Koga's kinda adorable, isn't he?" "I suppose he does,Kiyōna, for a guy. But I don't know if he's Hāmonī's type." "In my opinion, you guys have weird tastes. Isn't he a little old for you, little girl?" "Excuse me! Who are you anyway?" "Jeez, don't take it so hard, I was joking. Names Arashi." "I'm   Kiyōna." "I hate to break your meeting chat, but it looks those two are up."

And indeed while those three were talking Koga and Hāmonī had managed to get themselves up. Hāmonī could feel her face burning, and Koga's blush had moved from his ears to his cheeks.

Arashi grinned at them. "Well, thanks for the help. I have to be going now, but if you ever need help, just shout 'Arashi Windwalker, we need your help' and I'll come as fast I can. You've made a faithful friend of me. See you!" and with that she extended her wings and flew off into the sky.

"Why do you have to go see your snotty brother again?"  Koga said for the third time. Hāmonī rolled her eyes. "I've told you, Koga, my brother will be worried about me, even if he won't show it. I have to go reassure him that his sister isn't dead. Again."

Koga sighed "I still feel guilty that I haven't payed off my debt to you." As Hāmonī opened her mouth to argue, Koga cut her off "The ogre incident doesn't count. My wolves were in it too. I still owe you,Hāmonī.

She smirked at him. "Sometimes, I think you just make excuses to keep me around." Koga gave a small smile back. "What can I say? You're an interesting person to have around." His tone turned serious. "Come back safe or I'll never forgive myself, alright?"

She gave a small grin in return, and gathering her courage, brushed a small kiss across his cheek. "I'll plan on it." she murmured, and then ran out to meet her gang and head out, leaving behind a dumbfounded Koga.
