Everyone except Akihiko ate a hearty breakfast of rice and some fish. Akihiko, saying he didn't like anything that wasn't sweet, at some sweet fruit. After breakfast, Akihiko rose and said, with a tint of disappointment in his voice, "I'm sorry, but I must leave. I will not burden you any further." Without letting any of them getting in a passing remark, he jumped into the trees, turning invisible as he went.
Hāmonī had watched him go, feeling a smidgen of regret. Akihiko was a good fighter, and she would have loved to have him on there team. Still, it was impossible to find the half-demon when he was invisible.
Oh well.
The group packed up and headed out, still trekking on to where Inuyasha was last seen. This place, by Minto's information, was where Inuyasha was confronted by Tōtōsai, who wanted to see if he was worthy enough for his sword. Hāmonī had always felt slighted in this matter. After all, she didn't get a sword.
Honestly, Hāmonī didn't know how Minto got all this information. He must have friends in high places. Maybe Myōga was feeding him information. She grinned a little at that. Friends in low places, perhaps?
Anyway, they had to focus on reaching Inuyasha first. Then, Hāmonī would, more or less, introduce her and her group. She supposed she'd probably do it quite dramatically. No entrance was better then a dramatic entrance.
She heard a faint rustling behind her. Wind in the leaves? Probably, but she'd keep her guard up. She glanced at the others. Had they heard it?
Yuri and Kiyōna were chatting away, as they would always do as they traveled, giving Minto a break from their not unsubstantial weight. Minto trotted beside the girls, a slight frown on his face. He noticed Hāmonī's glance, and nodded in return. He had heard it too.
They had to be careful about this. What ever it was, unlikely as it may be, could be harmless. Maybe they could just do something to reveal it's nature...
An idea struck Hāmonī. She signaled to Minto she was going to do something, and listened for the rustle. When she heard it, she whirled around and shouted "Water Slash!" The heavy streams of water hit the bushes where the rustle came from.
A familiar sounding yelp emerged from said bushes, and out stumbled Akihiko, soaking wet, looking very disgruntled. "Did you have to cover me in water?" he muttered grumpily, squeezing the liquid out of his kimono. Hāmonī gave a cheeky grin. "I don't know," she said mockingly "Did you have to follow us?"
"Touche," he grimaced, shaking the water out of his hair. Kiyōna perked up, bouncing on the balls of her feet. "So are you coming with us?" she asked excitedly. Akihiko sighed, flicking excess water off his arms. "Yes. The only reason why I left and followed you was to test your skills at perception. I suppose you could say you've aced that." he paused, looking at Hāmonī hopefully "May I accompany you?"
Hāmonī didn't even have to think about it. "Of course." she said evenly. She glanced at the sky overhead. "Looks like time for lunch. Minto, do you want to-" Minto had already slipped into the woods, off to gather info on Inuyasha. Sometimes, she swore that cat could read her mind.
Lunch was set out and eaten, and Akihiko, Yuri, Hāmonī , and Kiyōna managed to get into a full blown conversation about annoying brothers before Minto had returned. The cat was breathing heavily, but triumph sparkled in his green eyes.
"Inuyasha's... nearby," he gasped "Just... got out of fight with... Sesshōmaru..." That was all Hāmonī needed to hear. She stood up, excitement gleaming in her own eyes.
"Time to plan."

Hellooo my apprentices!
I'm sorry this chapter is a little short, I have a lot of packing to do, plus this is just a little filler chapter before we finally, finally see Inuyasha.
Also, we've reached 10k reads! I'm thinking I'll do a facts about me page. I'll probably do 10-15 facts, so that's what's happening here.
I just want to say another huge thanks for all of the things you guys do, and I'm glad you enjoy my book.
Cheers!
