As they followed the shard,Hāmonī became worried about how easy this was. Why would Naraku want them to get a shard, though? As they continued, Hāmonī posed an idea she had to the rest of the group.
"I've had an idea," she said, pulling up to Inuyasha "I'm very suspicious of this whole situation. I'm going to take my group and scout around this area, while you continue to follow the shard. Sound good?" Inuyasha hesitated, but finally muttered "Fine. I don't see why, as I'm going to beat Naraku anyway, but if it makes you feel better, go ahead."
She rolled her eyes at her brother's arrogance. He couldn't always win, and he just couldn't realize this. It was frustrating. Before she left, Kagome grabbed her sleeve. "I have a bad feeling about this too." the girl murmured, and handed her something. Hāmonī glanced at her palm, and saw the jewel shards resting there. "I want you to have these in case all does not go well." Hāmonī closed her hand tight, and turned to her group.
She nodded, and they followed her into the forest. She could see the insects heading toward a building of some sort, and she decided was going to scout around it. She set out at a sprint toward the building, and she could see the trees thinning as they got closer.
It was when she was nearing the building that a speeding form crashed into her, sending her sprawling to the ground and whipping the air out of her lungs. She closed her eyes dizzily, and when she opened them again, a strong, calloused hand was held out to her. She accepted it gratefully, and came nose to nose with Koga.
"Well hello," he said softly "I certainly didn't expect to see you here." She glanced behind him, and saw the rest of her group being fairly ridiculous. Yuri and Kiyōna were jumping up and down, practically squealing, Chiki had a smirk on her face, Minto was winking at her repeatedly, and Akihiko had his eyebrows raised.
She turned back to Koga, a grin on her face. "Well, it seems my group is quite happy to see you. As am I." she replied, and Koga chuckled and let her go. She shook her head, clearing it from the impact an d the closeness with him. "So, why are you here?" she asked curiously. The smile slipped off his face. "My wolves are in trouble. You?" Hāmonī jerked her head toward the building. "Following a jewel shard, and it went in there."
Koga shrugged, and carefully slipped his hand into Hāmonī's. "Let's check it out together." he suggested, and she gently squeezed his hand in response. They ran together toward the castle, and Hāmonī's group followed.
She wasn't sure, but she was almost certain she heard a squeal from Kiyōna.
