"Were you too busy to even care, Ems?"
Emily instantly stood up from her chair and pulled Harry in a tight hug, he was taken aback and before he could think of a sassy comeback, maybe something about missing him too much; he stopped himself when he realized Emily was a crying mess. Harry sensed something was wrong, so he did his best to comfort her.
Honestly, Harry was never good at this kind of shit. He was the guy with instant and slaying comebacks, but seeing Emily so broken in his arms made him worried and slightly on edge.
"Come on, Ems, let's get you in the car, eh?" he took her hesitant nod as an approval to bring her to his rented Range Rover. He was nervous of what to expect, was it Diana? Was it that new husband of hers? If it was, then he knew he had some death threats to give away.
Harry watched as the Emily -the girl he had never seen crying before- sobbing hysterically in the passenger seat. He reached out to rub her back, drawing invisible shapes on her back as a soothing way to calm her down.
Expecting some happy meet up, his expectations were taking a whole different toll when this happened. It wasn't like he changed his number on purpose, but it wasn't his fault that he got robbed the other day. He had no problem with it anyways, other than his wrecked android and the wallet that only held five dollars. Poor robber.
His intentions of visiting Emily wasn't delayed because of the stolen items, as he thought he would buy another phone when he landed in Mullingar. Deciding to track her down with an app that the both of them discovered in college, he found her somewhere near to his hotel, and so that resulted in this sudden surprise.
He was surprised himself, too.
Looking back at Emily after his long thoughts, he watched as she shyly grinned behind her dried tears. She shook her head, before wiping the tears that were recently formed with the back of her hand.
"I'm sorry, I-I look like an idiot. God, I missed you so much, H." She whispered. Pulling him into a hug, she continued saying. "Thank you for coming, god, you wouldn't imagine what a wreck my life has been."
Listening to the crack in her voice, Harry immediately consoled her by rubbing her back with the palm of his large hand. "Shh, shh, I'm right here, Ems. I'll be here if you need me all day, okay?"
Emily nodded, and she thought - where was she to start?

After three full hours of Emily's sobs, Harry's silent tears, full-frontal comfort words and a tub of ice cream that Harry bought on the way, they were now on the way back to Emily's current home. Harry was pissed with Niall at first, but after Emily told him about his truthful confession and Emily's rejection; Harry was pissed with Emily.
"Ems, how could you? He must've been a mess!" Harry babbled, once again when the traffic light was red. Emily groaned again, annoyed with how many times she knew she was wrong, but she wasn't going to barge back to Niall right there, right? That would be so immature and inappropriate, right?
Yikes.
"But H, I was a mess too. He was a jerk, and my mother died and he's just so- so, perfect, ugh." Emily whined, trying to find Niall's fault after what had happened, but it all proved that she was being inconsiderate of his feelings. She was selfish.
"Calm your mammaries, woman. It's okay, you need time, and Niall has to accept that. It's gonna hurt, but he knows it's worth the wait. And that's important, you scored a great guy, Ems, keep that in mind." Harry said, and Emily couldn't agree more. She just needed time. She missed Niall, no doubt about that. Emily sighed.
