I saw a picture on tumblr that inspired me to do this. This is a Deity au. Applejack is the sun goddess and Rainbow Dash is the moon goddess. They can only be together during sunrises and sunsets. Enjoy :)
It was almost 6:45 am. The moon was lowering the in sky. The softer shades of blue and black were fading away to give way to the warmer colors of day.
Rainbow smiled. She couldn't wait. She watched as light peaked out over the horizon. Then she saw her. Beams of sunlight shone down. A girl appeared in a flash of light. She had long blonde hair, fair tan skin. She wore a golden dress. Her name was Applejack. The sun goddess. She ruled over the day.
She smiled.
"Rainbow".
Rainbow smiled back. Her smile shine like the moon. She herself was the moon goddess. With pale rainbow colored hair and white skin, Rainbow didn't really look like her title. She ruled over the night. The moon Goddess. She had on a white dress. Her dark blue eyes lit up with excitement.
"Applejack!!".
Rainbow ran up to her. Applejack wrapped her arms around her, pulling her for a hug. The two were completely pressed against one another. They relished every physical contact they had with eachother.
After all, they only could be together during sunrises rise and sunset. Once it was completely day time or completely nighttime, they'd be forced to seperate.
Applejack smiled, breathing her scent. She smelled like winter. Nighttime was cold. Applejack pulled away. She smiled at the shorter goddess.
"You look beautiful as always. How's the night goin??".
Rainbow grinned and shrugged.
"Lonely. Noone but the man in the moon to talk to. Sometimes Twilight comes out and talks to me but that's only once every few weeks".
Rainbow placed a hand on her hip.
"You'd think the goddess of stars would be out with me every night. Nope. Sometimes there aren't any stars. It sucks".
Applejack smiled.
"Well. Ah'll see what ah can do. Ah missed you".
Rainbow smiled sadly.
"It sucks not being with ya all the time", she said. "How's the daytime??".
Applejack smiled. "Pretty fun. I see Pinkie sometimes. She loves bein round' kids. Then again, she is the spirit of childhood".
Rainbow giggled. Applejack slightly placed a hand on her waist, holding her close. Rainbow smiled softly at her, her deep blue eyes twinkling like the stars she arranged night after night.
Applejack leaned in. She captured Rainbow's lips in her own. Rainbow felt the warmth off the sun goddess's lips. Rainbow wrapped her cold arms around her neck. The two made out. Kinda. They couldn't stop laughing every so often long enough to make the kiss last 10 seconds. Applejack brushed her hand against Rainbow's cheek.
She was careful to keep her heat in check. If she let her heat rise, she'd burn the moon goddess in her arms. That wouldn't be good. Rainbow made sure to keep her cool to a minimum. She could give Applejack freeze.
Applejack smiled, ending the kiss. She looked at Rainbow Dash. They only had a few minutes left.
"C'mon", she said. "Follow me".
Applejack took her by the hand. Rainbow followed her closely. The goddesses walked over to a cliff. It out looked the beach below. The water was calm. Applejack sat down, bringing Rainbow with her.
Rainbow brushed her white dress down, settling on the grass. Applejack wrapped a glowing arm around her shoulders.
