Rainbow sighed. She sat up straight on her bed. She could hear the yelling downstairs. Her parents were arguing. Again. This time her dad had been caught cheating. Again. Rainbow's mom and her had come home to find a woman in bed with the man.
Rainbow honestly saw it coming. Her dad was always doing something he shouldn't, like getting drunk and cheating. Then again, her mom wasn't any better. She would get drink and or high in the living room. The whole house would smell like smoke. Rainbow just ignored it and stayed in her room. The perfect way to spend Christmas Day. Rainbow could only imagine what everyone else in town was doing. Laughing. Playing in the snow. Drinking hot chocolate. Being happy.
But Rainbow learned over the years how to ignore the yelling and curse words. Unless one of them came into her room. Then the beatings started. Rainbow couldn't remember a day where either parent came into her room other than to beat her or yell at her.
Rainbow had grown up this way and for all she knew, she'd die this way. Or until she could move out. Which will never happen according to her dad. Plus. Rainbow couldn't leave her mom. Her mom needed her. She only drank and smoked to relieve the pain from her husband. Wasn't her fault.
Rainbow stood up. She grabbed her jacket off the chair at her desk and slipped it on along with her hat. She slipped on some winter boots. Rainbow grabbed her bag and walked out. She needed some time alone. A walk would do her some good.

"Are you sure??".
Applejack smiled and nodded.
"Ah'm sure Dad".
Jackson frowned. "Alright. Ah just don't want cha ta spend Christmas alone".
Applejack smiled.
"Ah'll be just fine".
"Well alright. C'mon Applebloom. We're goin ta granny's house. Applejack. We'll be back tomorrow".
Applebloom and Jackson walked out into the cold winter morning. Applejack closed the door. She sighed and looked around the empty house.
What now??.
Applejack thought a walk should be in order. She ran upstairs to her room. Applejack walked. Her boots were on the heater. Grabbing them, she slipped them on, along with her hat and gloves. She decided to head ta Dunkin' Donuts for a hot chocolate and a donut.

Rainbow shivered in the cold. Her nose was starting to run. Her hands were starting to hurt.
But this total beat being at home. Rainbow Dash stuff her freezing hands into her thin jacket pockets.
"Stupid jacket", she muttered. The jacket offered a little warmth to her but not much.
Rainbow noticed that the roads were pretty much empty that day. She passed by house after house filled with people and noise. She could smell food from Christmas parties going on, making her stomach growled. Rainbow hadn't eaten since yesterday.
Rainbow's legs were growing tited. She decided that a rest was needed. Rainbow looked around. She spotted a bench. Walking over it, she slowly sat down. Her body shivered in the cold. She leaned her head against the back of the bench, closing her eyes.
