"MOM!!!" I was in the hospital room where my mom was in. After what felt like forever, I was able to finally be able to see her again. "MOTHER!!!" I screamed in happiness. I ran towards the hospital bed and carefully hugged my mother. "Hey Harry." she whispered. "Mom, I'm so glad to see you're alive and well!!!" I replied excitedly. "Yea.. I heard about what happened to your father." she muttered. I closed my eyes slowly & remembered. "You had to witness all of it, didn't you.." she uttered. I opened my eyes instantly when I remembered. "Mom.. my father said he saw something in me before he passed away," I started,"he said that he saw a light in me..." My mother's eyes widened. "He told you that?" my mother asked, in a skeptic tone. "I remember it so clearly, mom.." I replied. She looked puzzled. I frowned at her. "What, mom?" I asked. She continued to look at me, hardly. "Mom, what's wrong?" I asked, harshly. She was slowly moving her lips, until she finally spoke. "He was right.." my mother whispered. "Mom, what are you talking about??" I asked, curiously. She looked away from me, but immediately turned back to me. "It will make sense later.. Right now, let me get some rest.." my mother continued. I looked at her suspiciously. "We'll see what we can do after I get out of the hospital.. We'll attend your father's funeral and see if I can find a better job." she explained. "Okay, mom. Rest well." I whispered. She kissed my cheek and closed her eyes. What in the world was my mother talking about?? How was my father "right"? Did he predict something in me??
"So, what did your mother tell you?" Linda asked. We were in her car on our way to her house. I explained with as much as detail as I could, and she too, was left confused. "It's as if you're a hero, or something. I mean, you are, but the way they're making it sound is a bit weird.." she uttered. I thought about it for a second, and it was true. I was being treated like the hero of the family, even though I didn't really do anything to save my family. In fact, I was pretty sure I was the one who had caused this all to occur. "So, do you guys want to see what the whole movement against Shattered Eyes is about?? They have a structure where, every day, they come out on the street with signs telling Shattered Eyes to leave the city. Some of the members have been found dead, and other members have attacked Shattered Eyes's members & got them arrested. I'm pretty sure you two could help out." Linda's mother explained, as she slowly drove to a different street. "Mother, are you trying to kill us??" Linda asked, humorously. "Oh no, you two ain't going on those streets with signs, I just think you two can help out in some way." her mother continued. I looked at Linda for a second, nodded, and took a deep breath. "I would like to join." I uttered.
The structure looked pretty odd, but it was particularly large. There was a large sign with a shattered eye and an 'X' marked on it. I was guessing the shattered eye was Shattered Eyes's logo. Linda's mother parked around the corner and all 3 of us got out of the car and made our way towards the structure. Before going inside, Linda stopped me with her hand. "Are you sure about this?" she asked, carefully. "I'm pretty darn sure," I started,"this is what happens when you mess with my family." Linda smiled, and she nodded in agreement. We entered the structure and found guards in almost every corner of the building. I saw one of the staff members walking towards us. "Hi guys! Are you here to join against the battle against Shattered Eyes?" she asked. I looked at Linda, and we both nodded. I turned back to the staff member quickly. "Correct." I replied, confidently. "Who's joining?" she asked. "All 3 of us." Linda's mother explained. Linda hadn't even said anything about joining, but it seems like she was in it for me. "Very well! My name is Patricia, by the way. I am the president of the movement." she continued. We introduced ourselves and were led to a bulletin board to sign our names on it. I felt like this was a path I was meant to take.
