My father groaned. I quickly crouched and tried to speak. Warm tears were running down my face. "Dad.. P-Please survive....!!!!!!" I uttered loudly. My father coughed loudly and vigorously. "..Son.. Let me tell you something," he whispered,"..you're a good kid.. you know that right?" I grabbed his hand and held on tight. "Dad.. I-I don't want you to die.. Please.. DON'T LEAVE US!" I screamed. "Harry.. You have more power in you than you even realize.. This was all meant to happen.." he replied softly. "But.. THEY ATTACKED US DAD! THEY HAVE MORE POWER THAN US COMBINED!" I shrieked. "Us?" my father asked. "Dad..." I whispered. "Us? No, son.. there is no 'us'.. it was just me and your mother.." he explained. I looked over to my mother. "MOM, ARE YOU OKAY?!" I yelled. She didn't respond. "MOM! I ASKED IF YOU WERE OKAY!" I screamed, again. I got up and ran towards her. She was bleeding from her leg, losing so much blood. I grabbed a shirt from my parents's closet and wrapped it tightly around her leg. She reached out to my hand and nodded. "I'm fine.. Harry.. Call the ambulance.." she muttered. I heard sirens from the distance. This was the time we actually needed an ambulance, not like last time. Then it reminded me. I turned around and saw Carol and George both laying on the floor, unresponsive. Carol had lost too much blood from her gun wound, and George was bleeding from the area around his shoulder. They had realized what they had done, I thought to myself. Then they quickly turned on Shattered Eyes. I turned to the window as sirens getting closer and closer. I peeked outside the window and saw my neighbors - all huddled together in a group - standing in front of our house with phones in their hands. They were looking towards the direction the ambulance was coming from. I turned to my parents. "The ambulance is almost here.. please.. just LIVE A LITTLE BIT LONGER!" I exclaimed. I ran towards my father. "Son.. I know I'm not going to make it.." he whispered softly.

"NO DAD! DON'T SAY THAT!" I screamed. I began to cry all over again. An ocean of blood and tears covered the bedroom floor. "Harry.. listen to me.." he explained. "Don't say 'us' anymore.. promise me you'll take care of yourself and your mother.." he whispered. "Father.. I.. I haven't called you that in such a long time.." I explained. "Harry.. you know how they say.. don't walk towards the light..?" my father explained. "Yes, father.. yes.." I replied, softly. "...Harry.. there are two lights... one is on that corner of the room.. the other one.. is... you.." he muttered, softly. He suddenly closed his eyes and smiled. He stopped moving. "FATHER!? DAD!? ARE YOU ALIVE!? CAN YOU HEAR ME!? DAD!!!!!" I screamed in horror. The sirens suddenly reached outside of my house. "DAD!! PLEASE!! NO!!!!" I shrieked. I was pouring unbelievable amounts of tears on the floor.. I felt as if I would run out of tears. I threw myself on my father's legs and hugged him tightly. My whole body was filled with blood - not my blood, but everyone else's. Eventually, the paramedics busted in, along with several police officers. I closed my eyes just like my father, and smiled.

The hospital waiting room was cold, quiet, and abandoning. I sat in the waiting room waiting to be picked up by Linda and go live with her for a while so that my mother and father recovered. I sat on the seat, with bandages around my arms and a clean, damp cloth that I cleaned myself with. A nurse sat next to me and made sure I was perfectly okay. "Your parents.. they'll be fine." she explained. I looked over to her. "I made my father a promise.." I uttered. "What was the promise?" she asked, curiously. "To keep myself safe." I replied. I looked up at her. "He went into the light.." I said, softly. Tears were coming out of my eyes. "But.. he said I was one of the two lights he saw.." I continued. She gave me an astonished look. "Go on. What else happened?" she insisted. "Then.. h-he closed his eyes and smiled.. and that's when he stopped moving.." I finished. She gave me a tight, warm hug and I tried to hold my tears in, but they came running down anyways. "Your father would not want you to cry right now.. he saw a light in you because he was right.. You do have a light in you." she explained. "That light is your power. Everyone has a different kind, but yours was the one he was able to see." I looked at her and continued to listen. My father knew I could do something, I thought to myself. Suddenly, doctors began to walk towards us. I lifted my head and was ready to be hit with whatever bad news there were. "Your father didn't make it.." the doctor explained.

I looked down immediately. I was no longer crying, however, because he had left something in me before he left this world. He left me with his power, power I could use to protect myself. "Your mother is fine, though. She is expected to recover in a few weeks." the doctor explained. He walked towards me and put his hand on my shoulder. "You've made it this far.. keep pushing forward." the doctor explained. "You're right.." I replied. I stood up slowly. "I can push forward." I explained. "You can. Tell you what," he explained,"tomorrow, you can come visit your mother." I gave him a happy expression. "I-I would certainly love to!" I exclaimed. Eventually, Linda and her mother arrived at the waiting room to pick me up. I ran towards Linda and hugged her, hard. I burst into tears, and we held eachother, hard. "It's okay, Harry," Linda uttered,"you made it through, and that's what matters the most." I looked up with a smile. "You're right.." I replied. I dismissed myself from the nurse and the doctors, thanking them for what they had done, and went home with Linda. Shattered Eyes was not going to get away with this.
