We stared at each other in first period, for who knows how long. I didn't care if I just had a minute to look at her beauty, one second of seeing it could brighten my entire day. I was starting to realize something. She had never stared at me like this before.. I began making assumptions she probably had the same feelings for me. The excitement passed through my body like goosebumps. It was so exciting knowing that I actually had a chance. Suddenly, the bell rang. I admit, it did make me jump at first since I was busy daydreaming. I quickly packed my things and basically ran to catch up with Linda, who was already exiting the classroom. She looked back and smiled at me. "Don't worry, I won't leave ya!" she explained while laughing. "I'm glad. The bell had already caught me off guard." I replied. We both laughed through the hallways as we made fun of the assignment we were working on during first period. Obviously, we hadn't really done much of it because during half of the class we were literally admiring every detail of each other's faces. We said our goodbyes after we reached the end of the hallway, and I started heading to my second period. I was completely amazed on how much love I was feeling, it was so enjoyable, almost therapeutic.

When lunch began, it was basically a race to the lunch line. No one wanted to be last - and people would do even the most cruelest actions to make sure they didn't end up last. I located Linda and quickly walked over to her. "Hurry, before the lunch line gets full!" I exclaimed. She laughed. "We could just wait, you know." she explained. "Are you sure? My stomach is basically eating me from the insides!" I exclaimed. We both laughed and stared at the lunch line grow in size. "So how was second period?" Linda asked. "It was alright, I guess. Chill, like always." I replied. "How was yours?" She looked at me for a moment, and then looked back at the lunch line. "What's wrong?" I asked. She began to blush a little, and she tilted her head towards me. "I missed you." Oh no, the butterflies began to invade my stomach. She was staring at the lunch line, and I was trying hard to keep myself from blushing, but I'm pretty sure I did anyways. "I-I missed you too.." I replied, with a weak voice. She began to laugh and I began to become embarrassed. "I know your nervous dude, I can literally see it in you." she explained. I didn't know how to react to that, so I just laughed too. For the rest of lunch, we were discussing homework and talking about our plans for the weekend. It was amazing.

Eventually, it became sixth period. I couldn't believe how fast the day had gone by, and I was enjoying every little aspect of it. I began to think to myself, she likes you dude, but I would brush it off. I began to doodle after I completed my work and found myself doodling a peculiar flower. I then remembered about the beautiful garden we had in our backyard, and I remembered there was this one bright, yellow sunflower that would always shine its colors in the daytime. I thought I could ask out Linda and give her the sunflower, but I started having other plans. I didn't even realize that class only had two minutes left. "What's that?" my neighbor to the right of me asked. "It's a sunflower, I think." I replied. I chuckled a little. "It's amazing! Your pretty good at drawing." she explained. "Oh, thank you!" I replied. I remembered that Linda loved art, and I truly believed that I had another advantage now. I packed my things, took a deep breath, and was ready to continue the day.

After school, I searched for Linda. I couldn't find her anywhere, no matter where I rummaged. I began to think to myself that she had probably already walked home, or she was probably looking for me. I eventually gave up and started to walk home, thinking about the big decision I had planned for tomorrow. I was actually brainstorming ways I could ask out Linda without having to deal with embarrassment, but I couldn't quite think of one. I decided I would just do what I do best and continue being a supportive best friend to her, but I knew deep inside, we both wanted more than that, and it was up to me to make that happen. I arrived home and realized that my dad had beat me to the house first. I rang the doorbell and heard voices inside the house. My dad opened the door, and I stepped in confused. I glanced at the living room and couldn't believe my eyes.
