ITC: Ashton (Playing emotions)

Ashton's Interview*

(Interviewer looks up as Ashton comes in and strolls over to him. The Interviewer gets up and they shake hands before they both sit down)

Interviewer: (Fixes the paper) "Okay...let's begin." (Looks back up) "What's your name?"

Ashton: "Ashton Irwin... I hope all the questions are this easy!" (Smiles brightly)

(Interviewer raises eyebrow)

Interviewer: "What is your favourite hobby?"

Ashton: (Laughs quietly) "Without a doubt, it's playing drums. I'm always getting in trouble at school for using the table as a drum..." (Air drums with his fingers)

Interviewer: "Okay...I heard you're a hit musician. How it that life?"

Ashton: "The attention from girls is umm... (Rubs the back of his neck) "overwhelming. I wouldn't say I'm a hit musician as of yet, I still have a long way to go in the music industry."

(Interviewer nods head)

Interviewer: "Do you have any girl you like? Particular Saoirse?" (Raise eyebrow)

Ashton: (Blushes at the mention of Saoirse) "Urm w-why would you say that? Saoirse's my best friend, of course I like her!" (Puts a smile up)

Interviewer: "Uh, huh...what do you like to do on your free time?"

Ashton: "Just hanging out with mates, that makes me happy."

Interviewer: "What instrument do you play as a musician?"

Ashton: "I play drums, guitar and piano." (Count with fingers) "But mostly drums, I love my drum kit."

Interviewer: "Are there things you despise about becoming famous?" (Curious)

Ashton: "I never get to spend time with my family and close friends any more. I love the rest of the band, but sometimes all I wanna do it go home and eat mum's special spaghetti dish." (Rubs belly)

Interviewer: "Umm... sound good. Is there something I should know about your relationship with Saoirse?"

Ashton: (Breaks out into Justin Bieber) "we're just friends, what are you saying?" (Chuckles with a blush forming on his cheek) "Honestly, we're best friends. People always say that a guy and a girl who are best friends will end up falling for each other. That hasn't happened yet with us, but to be honest if it does I'd be the happiest person on this planet. Saoirse is the sweetest, funniest, prettiest and the most selfless person I know."

(Interviewer chuckles)

Interviewer: "What is your favourite past time.?"

Ashton: "Eating... aw c'mon who doesn't love eating.?"

(Interviewer shrugs)

Interviewer: "What is your favourite band?"

Ashton: "I'm a huge All Time Low fan but I like Blink 182 as well."

Interviewer: "Do you like your director? How about the producer?" (Curious look)

Ashton: "I-I the director and producer are well... they have the show's best interests at heart. I'm not one to go against that."

Interviewer: "Are there things your look forward too?"

Ashton: "Making music with my band and touring!"

Interviewer: "Are there plans in your future now that you are a musician?"

Ashston: "I want to share my music with everyone. So I'll be getting my head down a writing a few songs about... (Pauses to think) "-urm about someone."

(Interviewer narrows eyes curious)

Interviewer: (Looks down at paper) "What going to happened now?"

Ashton: "For now, I'm going to focus on getting through the talent show. All I can hope is that Saoirse and I stay the best friends we are now." (Looks down at his watch) "I need to go." (Stands) "Thanks for a great interview." (Shakes hand and smiles at Interviewer)

Interviewer: "Have fun and good luck." (Ashton waves and then leave the room. Interviewer looks at the clock) "Lunch!" (And walks out)

Summary: Saoirse* Riverson and Ashton Irwin are both best friends desperate to get out of their small town in Northern Ireland and make it big as musicians. They audition as soloists for a new UK talent show called "Searching for a Star", hoping it'll help them achieve their dreams.

However, take one greedy director and one selfish producer - what happens when these two friends are forced into faking a relationship for the viewers?

Saoirse's love for her friend starts to turn into despise, causing the blossoming of a romance with another contestant. Their friendship it tested to the limit and it quickly becomes clear their lives are not a love story but a story about love.
