ITC: Carmen (Starved)

Carmen's Interview*

(Carmen pops her head in to see the Interviewer, before she strolls in. Carmen and the Interviewer exchange before both take a seat)

Interviewer: "Hello." (Looks at Carmen) "Shall we begin?" (Carmen nods) "What's your name?"

Carmen: "Carmen Livia Abella."

Interviewer: "Nice to meet you. What kind of girl are you?"

Carmen: "I'm a Christian girl. Like to follow by the rules, but I like to get out a little." (smiles)

(Interviewer nods)

Interviewer: "Um....I see. How do you feel about yourself?

Carmen: "I feel like I don't belong in this world and I don't need to be Italian." (Shrugs)

Interviewer: "Um.......I've heard you're anorexic...would you like to explain that with us?"

Carmen: "I'm not known to tell people about my disorder, but I've been known to be extremely skinny. I'm Italian and its a rare thing to see a Italian girl that doesn't eat. I'm just a typical insecure girl, but I've gone a little to far and it's hard." (Signs)

(Interviewer nods)

Interviewer: "How many people know about you anorexia?"

Carmen: "My cousin Ariana."

Interviewer: "So, are you a fangirl?"

Carmen: (Smiles) "I fangirl over certain people. I'm not a huge one and I don't put millions of posters of one person on my wall. My phone is filled with many pictures of my favorite though." (Laughs a tiny bit)

(Interviewer chuckles)

Interviewer: "For what band and why?

Carmen: "Through the weeks I will get to like One Direction. I was never big on them before I meet them though." (Shrugs)

(Interviewer raises an eyebrow)

Interviewer: "Have you taken a particular liking to one of the boys?"

Carmen: (Blushes) "I have a small crush on Harry Styles."

(Interviewer smiles)

Interviewer: "Is it possible, by any chance, that he will begin to notice you?"

Carmen: (Shrugs) "Maybe, but I'm not that pretty of a girl." (Signs and frowns)

Interviewer: "If he did, how would you deal with it?"

Carmen: (Frowns) "I would try to push him away even if I do like him. I'm in a stage of my life where I have to love myself first before I can love anyone else."

(Interviewer nods in understanding)

Interviewer: "Do you have any secrets?"

Carmen: (Thinks) "Other than me being anorexic, no."

Interviewer: (Flips page) "Would you change anything happening to you if you have the chance?"

Carmen: "I would change being this way. (Looks at herself) "Not liking the way I'm so insecure. I just want to like my body."

(Interviewer nods)

Interviewer: "What are your future plans?"

Carmen: "Just to get through high school."

Interviewer: (Looks down) "Anything else you want to tell us?"

Carmen: (Thinks) "Um....nothing I can thank of." (Slowly gets up) "Thanks for having me." (Smiles and shakes hand with Interviewer before leaving. Then she leaves the room)

Interviewer: "Um..........." (Looks at watch) "Break time." (Then leaves room)

Summary: Carmen Livia Abella is dealing with anorexia nervosa. She lives the life of an everyday teenager though. No one knows what she's going through and she doesn't want anyone to know. When she meets One Direction her whole life turns around though. She is in the eye of the media and Harry Styles. Can she handle the everyday pressure or will she break down and lose herself?
