The panther was all cooked up. The thick pieces were stuck on the end of branches, ready for someone to take.
The panther was a perfect way to get those people on my side. If I made them take off their wristbands for food, people might actually do so and listen to me.
I felt a bit bad though... it wasn't my kill, it was Zen's. Only Octavia knew it was Zen, and the group that was with us. Everyone else at camp thought it was mine. I needed to keep up the sherade, though, so my plan could fall into action. I'd like to have thought Zen would understand I was doing that to lead the camp... and for other reasons she would never find out.
My sherade was working, though. It was going perfectly. Neraly everyone took their bracelets off. One person I'd hoped to see was Zen, but she was up in the dropship helping Jasper.
I would've given her a piece of meat for free anyways, it was practically hers.
While I was keeping the end of the line prepared, Murphy was watching the front and taking off the bracelets. The whole thing was organized and well kept. I was gaining some leadership there.
Once I was done going through the line, I walked up to check on how Murphy was doing. He didn't look happy, and then I saw why.
One kid, about fiteen, was about to go take a piece of meat. But he still had his wristband on.
"Finn," was all Murphy said to me. Finn must've taken his own piece of meat, and managed to get away with it. He was tricky like that. The young teenagers must've saw him succeed, and was trying to attempt the same.
But just because Finn got away with it, doesn't mean anyone else would.
With my fist balled up, I walked right toward the young kid, landing a right hook on the left side of his face. He fell to the ground, stunned. I turned around, and everyone else in the line looked scared. Mission accomplished.
But when I made a full one hundred eighty degree turn and saw Zen standing right there, I felt as if my attempt actually failed.
She looked a bit scared, but mostly surprised and disappointed. She had a piece of meat, and her bracelet was still on. That's the only thing that made me feel good when I looked at her then.
Her eyes were narrowed slightly, and her jaw was clenched bringing out the definition of her face. Even though she looked beautiful, it was a look I never wanted to see again.
Zen didn't come over to me, tell me off, or even give me a punch herself. All she did was shake her head, then turned around to go into her tent.
Personally, I would've rather been punched. It probably would've hurt less mentally.
'This is just another reason why I can't be with her,' I thought to myself. I was a dick who needed leadership and a way out, and she was a blondie was just wanted life to be easy down on the ground.
I started walking towards her tent, to try and mend that weave I'd just untangled. But once I got two feet away from the opening, I froze. She wouldn't want to see me. I'd be the last person she wanted to talk to.
I decided to leave her alone, and maybe try and talk to her the next day. Or, I could just leave it at that, and ignore her as long as I could. That would for sure stop her from getting closer to me.
I would never be good enough for Zen. She deserved way more than me.
This is one scene that hits me hard and I can't help it ugh the feels
Sorry that this was kind of a short update, it's a short scene and I can't go on about meat for two thousand words haha (i mean i could if y'all would be up for that)
I hope to have a new update of the actual story soon! This week has been crazy, and this weekend I will have hardly any time to breathe. Jobs and school man can't wait until I'm sixty and can retire
Also... I know you guys wanted me to finish Zellamy and then do a Daryl Dixon fan fiction, but as I was outlining the first chapter of Daryl's story I ended up writing the entire thing and then a prologue... oops
Do you guys want me to post that, and see what you think of it? It's up to you, I can wait, it's totally cool.
I'm just in this era of passion for TWD and DD, and its hard to use that passion for Zellamy... I really need to get my priorities straight haha
Let me know what you think and please don't hate me I'm only human and part retard
So thank you for your support, as always! I hope you enjoyed this little Bellamy POV which I find very heart wrenching. :D
