The only speck of blonde hair Bellamy saw was from Drew's head. Miller and Marcus were walking beside him, all three of their heads hanging down. They hesitated to move through the gate, especially so when they noticed Bellamy standing in the middle of camp, arms crossed on his chest, and a serious stare that could make anyone freeze. Miller reacted the complete opposite, though, as he charged toward their leader.
Zen was gone. Bellamy didn't know if she died, or if she'd taken off, or hell, if the grounders took her. He was quickly able to eliminate death, though, because none of the three boys had her body. He knew they would bring her back, and not just for himself.
Bellamy had two choices; one: breakdown in front of every delinquent, letting the anxious of his stomach tighten as he fought back tiny, tiny tears of worry, because Zen was somewhere without him, all alone, and he might never see her again. Two: release fury; ignore the pain and hurt chorusing through his body, and instead, focus on letting his face turn beat red, cramping his hands from tightening his fists too hard, try to resist from knocking out all three men who were supposed to look out for her.
"Bellamy-"
"What in the bloody hell happened for you not to bring her back," Bellamy asked. Octavia walked out of her tent, and before she even noticed Drew, Marcus and Miller, minus Zen, she took in the expression and emotion pouring out of Bellamy, and she knew something happened to her blonde friend.
"She found a pig, or a hog, whatever the hell it was-"
"Miller!"
"Well he needs the details, Marcus!"
"It was a boar," Drew corrected.
"Keep explaining, idiots," Octavia walked to stand next to her brother, and she gave his arm a small squeeze to try and comfort him. She wasn't very successful.
"She went off to kill the animal, told us to stay behind so we didn't make noise and scare it away." When Bellamy didn't react, Miller explained further. "I don't know how it happened so fast, she was gone for two minutes, we didn't even move from our spot. We knew she would come back, so when she didn't... Bellamy, I don't know what the hell do to. This happened because of us! She's out there because we didn't watch her. If she dies..."
"If she dies, I'm burying you with her."
Miller was subtly preparing for Bellamy to walk over, put his hands on either side of his face, and snap his neck in two seconds. He was worried about letting her go alone; worried about her, but also worried about what Bellamy would do if something happened. He was about to find out.
But Bellamy didn't say or do anything else. His muscles tensed, and instead, turned around one hundred and eighty degrees, and walked directly into his tent, where he zipped the flap shut and fell onto his makeshift bed.
Bellamy didn't know what to do either. He couldn't think straight; the man with all the plans couldn't put one together to save Zen. He felt useless, then scared himself into thinking that he liked her a bit too much. He knew that if he had a choice, he'd choose to be with her; this situation proved that.
The pain he was feeling was at the same degree of what he felt when Octavia went missing, and they had to search the woods for her. He saw Zen as another Octavia; another family member. Not a blood relative, but more so... a lover.
He let one tear slide down his face, rolling onto his ear as he laid on his back, staring at the roof of the tent, trying his best to calm himself down so he could at least think of something he could do. He couldn't go looking the way he did with Octavia, because the grounders knew of what they did. They'd be expecting the same thing.
"Bellamy, Clarke and Finn aren't back either," Octavia yelled through the orange linen cloth.
Big deal, Bellamy thought to himself, and internally punched himself for being so selfish. Clarke and Finn were a part of the group down here, too, but they weren't Zen. They definitely weren't.
"We need to plan something, Bellamy," Octavia spoke, trying to coax him to come out of his tent. "We need to find her."
Her. Just her. Not Clarke, not Finn, her. Octavia knew the most important person to Bellamy at that moment was Zen, and to be quite honest, Octavia felt the same way, too. Zen was someone who could never do any wrong; she was always a supporter and did everything for anyone. The amount of respect she gave off was something Bellamy and Octavia could never do, and if they were to, it'd take a hell of a lot of work.
"Get off your ass, she needs you."
He heard his sister's footsteps as she walked away from the tent, squishing grass and dirt underneath her. He sat up, noticing one of her sweaters tucked in the corner.
"She needs me."
This was really short and really sucky BUT THIS IS THE ANNIVERSARY OF LOSE A LITTLE TO SAVE A LOT OMG GUYS I COMPLETELY FINISHED THIS STORY TWO YEARS AGO
TWO
YEARS
AGO
I sadly have to make this short, but I will come back and edit after I'm done all my shitty work and its summer.
I love you all. I love reading your comments, I love how you guys are picking up on small things, and enjoy some of the different twists I add to the story and Zen (saw this comment today about how they liked Zen being closer with the smaller side characters, rather than the main ones). Seeing that made my day, because there's always a reason for something that I do, one of which having Zen be bffs with the guys, and to see that you guys appreciate that is just ohmagah
THIS IS ALSO A CELEBRATION FOR 500 FOLLOWERS AHHHH
I love each and every one of you, I love those who don't follow me, I love those who never like or comment (I always forget to when reading on here), I love those who reread, who only read once, who desperately wait for a new update, and those who gave up waiting because I took too long.
You clicking on this story and giving me support is something I will always remember and always think of. It sounds so cheesy and corny and stupid, but this definitely got me through a hard time in my life, and its so amazing to see that I got such great feedback from it.
Thank you, and I'll see you in about two weeks.
PS, now that I can see the paragraph comments on my computer, I'll be attempting to respond to all the comments I haven't yet seen. Can't say when that will be, but don't worry, it'll happen.
