Chapter 46- Adventures With Lyric

*Stephen's POV*

I looked at my watch, and then I looked at Lyric. She smiled politely then stuffed another cookie in her mouth.

"Are you enjoying those cookies?" I asked her.

"Yes. Very Much." She shrieks.

"That's good honey bun." I chuckled, pulling out my phone. I've called Klay like 10 times, but he hasn't answered. I'm tempted to just pack Lyric's toys up and take her with me to practice, because I'm not allowed to miss it. I'm the only one here, and it's not Mabel's responsibility to take care of our kids. "Do you want to go on a field trip?" I asked her.

"Can I bring my cookies?" She asks sweetly.

"Of course you can." I lightly poked her nose, making her giggle. "I'll be right back, in the next room there's a big tv and I think the cartoon channels are 325-345. You know how to work a remote control?"

"I think so." She says with a mouth full of cookie.

"Alright pumpkin." I said picking her up out of the bar stool, and setting her on the ground. I grabbed her hand, and the plate of cookies off the counter and walked her into the living room. "You like cartoon network?" I asked as she made herself comfortable on Klay's big chair.

"Is that the one with Spongebob?"

"Okay I think your looking for Nick jr or something." I said turning the Tv. The Backyardigans are on and the theme song is playing. She starts to sing along. It makes me miss Riley a lot, but I'll get over it. I'll have to remind myself to give Ayesha's parents a call so I can talk to my little buttercup.

After watching over Lyric for a quick second, I headed upstairs to get my gym bag and change into my practice clothes. I looked at my phone, and wondered what Tae was doing. I decided to call and check up on her and to see if she had heard from either Klay or Destiny.

It rings only once, before she answers.

"Talk to me." she says.

"Where are you?" I asked.

"I'm at Blake's... Why what's wrong?"

This catches me off guard. Just the thought of her alone with him, breaks my heart.

"Oh, nothing. Carry on.." I said, and then I hung up before she could say anything else.

I don't know why she feels like she can teeter totter between the two of us, when it's clear I'm what's best for her. I break my back for her every day, showing her that I can be honest and committed to us, and all I expect is the same in return.

I pick up my gym bag, and I close the door to her room.

Meanwhile, downstairs Lyric is still watching television. Right where I left her. It's so outstanding how obedient she is. Riley would have been upstairs with her fingers in the toilet.

"Lyric are you ready?" I asked coming from behind the couch.

"I did some thinking." She starts.

"Oh really? Well, what did you think about?" I asked, coming over to her and sitting down.

"I decided I'm gonna stay here and watch tv and wait for my daddy." She says, huffing out a big breath. You can see the sadness in her eyes.

"Well, you're in luck little one."
