Raven’s P.O.V.
I woke up the next day to somebody on the front door so I got up and went to answer it. The person who’s standing at the door is Jeremiah. I look at him shocked and then once when I recover, I say, “What are you doing here?” Jeremiah shakes his head and says, “No hello?” I sigh and Jeremiah says, “Where is Jace?” I point a finger backwards and say, “Sleeping.” Jeremiah has an angry look on his face and says, “Go wake him.”
I nod my head and then I head to Jace’s room, but he’s not in bed, instead he’s putting on his shirt. Jace turns around and says, “Let me guess your great-grandpa is here and he wants to see me.” I nod my head and say, “Let me guess, you heard the conversation.” Jace nods his head and says, “Every word.” I smiled at him and say, “Good luck.” Jace smiles back at me and says, “Thanks babe.” I nod my head and Jace grabs my hand and we go into the living room where Jeremiah was at.
I begin to sit down but then Jeremiah tells me that he wants to speak to Jace alone so I head into Jace’s room. I did begin to hear some loud shouting coming from the living room but when I opened up the door, I saw someone that I didn’t expect to see. That person was Gage, Jeremiah’s old friend, and he says, “Mind if I come in, Raven?” I shake my head and say, “I don’t mind, but how do you know my name?” Gage comes in, sits on the bed and says, “Jeremiah talks about you and your brothers a lot.” I smile about that and say, “Who was yelling out there?” Gage sighs and says, “Back on that subject are we?”
I nod my head, smiling and say, “Yes, now please answer me.” Gage shakes his head and says, “Wow, you remind me of Jeremiah, very demanding.” I nod my head and Gage says, “It was Jeremiah that was yelling; he is very unhappy at Jace.” I give him a look that says continue but he doesn’t instead, he says, “Did Jace tell you that his family left so that you and Jace could fully mate?” I shake my head no and say, “He failed to mention that.” Gage nods his head and says, “Not surprising.” I nod my head and then I sit down next to Gage to talk about anything.
Jace’s P.O.V.
When I saw a guy walk in and ask where Raven was, I was about to speak but then Jeremiah yells out, “He won’t hurt her Jace, now clam down!” I glare at Jeremiah but I also began to calm down and then Jeremiah says, “Have you calmed down yet?” I nod my head and say, “Who is that guy that just came in?” Jeremiah begins to smile and says, “That is Gage, my old friend.” I nod my head and say, “He wouldn’t hurt her, would he?” Jeremiah shakes his head and says, “He wouldn’t touch her.” I nod my head again and say, “Why are you here?”
Jeremiah growls and says, “Don’t think I’m stupid, I know your dad left so you can mate with Raven.” I gasp and say, “How in the hell did you know?” Jeremiah glares at me and says, “I caught a spy of your father’s and he told me that information.” I shake my head, making a mental note to tell my father to fire the spy and then I say, “To tell you the truth Jeremiah, I wasn’t even planning on mating with her.” Jeremiah growls loudly and says, “What, you don’t love Raven to mate with her?” I growl back and say, “I love her Jeremiah, but I won’t mate with her just yet.” Jeremiah gives me a look that says continue so I say, “My dad was telling me that if I didn’t mate with Raven, he would ship me off somewhere to discipline me.”
Jeremiah shakes his head and says, “That’s harsh.” I shrug my shoulders and say, “Whatever, I don’t think he’ll do it anyway.” Jeremiah shrugs his shoulders and says, “Maybe, maybe not.” I sigh and say, “I don’t know what would happen to Raven if it turned out that I would actually be shipped off.” Jeremiah smiles and says, “She would stay at home until you get back.” I smile back at him and say, “That’s good to know, thank you.” Jeremiah nods his head and says, “You’re very welcome.” I stand up and say, “Are we done here?” Jeremiah shakes his head and say, “Not yet; until your dad gets back, Gage and I will be staying here.” I gasp and say, “But why, I told you that I wouldn’t mate with her yet.” Jeremiah nods his head and says, “That might be true but I need to stay here to make sure what you say is true.”
