Raven’s P.O.V.
After Ash left Jace says, “I’m bored, want to go somewhere?” I shrug my shoulders and say, “I guess.” We both took a shower together and after we changed; we left the house. We got into the car and we drove off and just as we were about to stop at the mall, Jace’s phone goes off. He pulls out his phone and he begins talking to the person. After he gets done talking he says to me, “My dad wants me to see him now.” I nod my head and say, “Let’s go then.” Jace takes my hand in his and he says, “I’m sorry, I know you wanted to go in.”
I smile at him and say, “We can always go tomorrow.” Jace pulls me towards him and he kisses me gently and he says, “I’ll make it up to you, I promise.” After that, Jace begins driving off and a few minutes later we arrived at James’s house and we got out and we begin to make our way towards the door. Just as we were about to knock on the door, it opens to reveal James and he says, “Get in.” We both get in and James says, “Raven please go with Ash.” Just as Jace was about to say something, James says, “Don’t argue with me.” I walk over to Ash and we head into his room.
When we arrived in his room I say to Ash, “Can you explain to me what is going on?” As sits on his bed and he says, “Apparently Jake, my dad’s brother and my uncle; he’s getting out of jail and he wants to meet you alone so dad is talking to Jace about it.” I frown at that and say, “Shouldn’t they be talking to me about it?” Just as Ash was about to say something a voice says, “Because James thinks that Jace should answer for you.” I turn to the voice and I see Dorian so I say, “But that’s unfair; I should be able to answer for myself.” Dorian shrugs his shoulders and he says, “You should but James is stupid like that.” Just as I’m about to answer that another voice says, “I’m not stupid, besides Jace wants Raven to say her answer.” My eyes got big as I say, “He did?” James moves to reveal Jace and he says, “Your my mate, you can make your own decisions not me.” I ran over to Jace and hug him and then James ruins the moment by saying, “So what’s your answer?” I glare at James and say, “I guess my answer is a yes.”
A couple of days later Jace and I had to go back James’s house so I could meet Jake for the first time. When we arrived at the house Jake was already outside waiting. Right after we got out of the car, Jake says, “I want to speak to Raven alone.” Jace was about to interject but then I say, “That’s fine; Jace please go inside.” Jace pulls me towards him and he kisses me gently before saying to Jake, “Do not harm my mate Jake or I will kill you.” Jake growls at Jace and he says, “I won’t harm her, I just want to talk.” Jace goes inside obviously satisfied with the answer and Jake says, “Let’s go in my car and drive off.”
I was about to tell him no but I knew that he wouldn’t talk to me unless I went so I get in his car. After I get in he gets in too and he says, “Thanks for getting in.” I sigh as I say, “Not like I had a choice.” Jake begins driving and he says, “I’m sorry, it’s just I didn’t want Jace to bother us.” We stopped at the park and we both got out and Jake says, “Hope you didn’t mind the park.” We arrived at the bench and sat down and I say, “Why the park?” I turn to look at Jake and he says, “Haven’t been here since I was in jail.
I decided to stop talking so Jake could tell me why he wanted to talk to me. I look at Jake and he says, “There’s some things that I have to say that may shock and scare you.” I did not like where this was going and the way he said it sounded like I was going to be getting an earful. I sigh as he says, “I was raised to hate your family and now here I am speaking to you; you who I did hate.” I frown as Jake continues with, “I know that your last name is Jacobs.” Okay, how did Jake know what my last name is and then Jake says, “A friend told me; I’m not going to say who but it’s not Jace.” I wonder who it was but then Jake says, “I just hope that the rest of my family understands and agrees with me that we shouldn’t hate your family.” After Jake and I finished talking, we got back in his car and drove off heading towards James’s house.
