Raven’s P.O.V.
Axel and I both nod our heads and then dad leaves and Axel says, “Shit, I forgot that I was going to hang out with a friend.” I give him a questioning look and he says, “I promised my friend Jared that I would hang out with him after dad left.” I give Axel a sad look and he says, “Come on Raven, we can always hang out tomorrow if you want.” I was about to nod my head but then I say, “I told Aiden that I would hang out with him tomorrow, remember?” Axel makes an ‘O’ shape with his mouth and says, “Oh yeah, I forgot about that.” I stand up and Axel says, “Why don’t you ask Aiden what time he’s coming over and then we’ll see when we can hang out.” I nod my head and then I walk into my room and then I grab my phone and call Aiden.
He answers right away and says, “Hey Raven, what can I do for you?” I take my stuff out of the bags and say, “I was wondering when you were going to be coming over tomorrow.” After I said that I heard some papers being moved and then he says, “I was thinking either at twelve or one.” I wrote the two times on a piece of paper and I say, “See you tomorrow then.” Aiden says the same thing and we hang up with each other and then I try on my new t-shirts. After I’m satisfied that they all fit I hung them up in the closet. Somebody begins knocking so I went to see who it is and it’s Axel and he says, “Did you call Aiden yet?”
I nod my head and I say, “Yeah, he said either between twelve or one.” Axel grins and says, “That’ll give us plenty of time before he arrives.” I nod my head again and Axel says, “I should get going before Jared leaves without me.” I hug Axel before he walks away and then I close my door and make my way towards the bed. I lay down and stare at the ceiling for a while before I fall asleep. I wake up three hours later to someone calling out my name so I open my eyes and I turn my head to face Hunter. I glare at him and he says, “Time for supper.” I get up and follow him to the living room where all of my brothers are already eating. I pull out my chair and begin eating a meal that had no conversation to it.
I decided to eat quickly because I hate silences and I knew that my brothers were fully aware of that. After I got done eating, I went into my room and just when I was about to lay down, my phone began ringing. I thought maybe it was Aiden or one of my brother’s but then I remembered that I had chosen songs for everybody and the song that I had picked for Jace was playing and that song is ‘Kick in the teeth’ by Papa Roach. I grabbed my phone and Jace says, “Hey Raven.” I began crying and he says, “I’m going to be back home in a week.” We talked for two hours and then he had to hang up so I placed my phone on the table and laid back down on my bed. I tried to take a nap but I couldn’t because there were so many thoughts running through my head.
I guess I fell asleep because I woke up and it was completely dark and I even had the covers on me. I grabbed my phone and I saw that it was one in the morning, I then put the phone back and I turned around to face the other side. After I did that, I closed my eyes and drifted back into sleep. The alarm on my phone goes off, wait what alarm? I turned around, grabbed my phone and I saw that it was my brother Miles who tried calling. I called him back and he says, “Come down to the living room.” After Miles says that, he hangs up and I saw that it was one in the afternoon.
I quickly got up and decided to head down in my pajamas. When I got to the bottom step all of my brothers were standing there, including dad and he says, “Care to explain why you were up so late night?” I gave him an angry look and I say, “I was not up late dad.” Dad looks at his watch and says, “Well, its one twenty in the afternoon and you got up at one right?” I nod my head and he says, “So it’s obvious you were up late then.” I shake my head and say, “Jace called last night.” My dad and brother’s gasp and I say, “He told me that he’s coming back in a week.” While I’m saying that I begin crying and then my dad comes over and he pulls me into a hug. I wrap my arms around him and he says, “I’m sorry for yelling at you Raven.” I tell him its fine and it seems like my dad wants to continue the subject but he doesn’t and I was glad that he dropped it.
