Raven’s P.O.V.
When I went back downstairs, I only saw my dad but no brothers and I say, “Where did everybody go?” Dad points at the door and he says, “They left already, let’s get going.” Dad and I walked out the front door and into his car and then we drove off. Ten boring minutes later we arrived at the mall and dad says, “Here is your money.” I take it and dad says, “I’ll be expecting you to call me when you are done shopping, understand?” I nod my head and say, “Yes sir.” Dad smiles at me and says, “Now get going.”
I get out of the car and run towards the entrance and went into Hot Topic. Ten minutes later I walked out of the store with four new t-shirts and three pairs of skinny jeans and then I went to Best Buy to look at movies but I didn’t find any so I grabbed my phone and called dad. When he answered I told him that I was done shopping so he says, “I’ll drive up to the entrance that you went into.” I hung up the phone and then I walked outside and I saw dad in the car. I got inside and dad says, “Anywhere else you need to go?” I shake my head and dad says, “So, home it is?” I nod my head and then dad drives off. We arrive home and dad says, “Why don’t you call Jace and tell him to come over so we can talk.”
Dad and I get out of the car and we head inside the house. I went upstairs to my room and I sat on my bed and called Jace. He answered on the third ring and I say, “My dad wants you to come over so you can talk to him.” Jace tells me that he will be over as soon as he can and I say, “Alright, see you when you get here.” We hang up and I try on my stuff and as usual they all fit. I put the clothes away and went downstairs and as soon as I was on the last step, I heard somebody knock on the door. Just as I was about to get to the door, dad comes out of nowhere and he says, “I’ll open it.” I move out of the way and then dad opens up the door and its Jace. He comes in and he smiles at me. I smile back and dad says, “Raven, can you please leave the house for a while? I’ll call you when you can come back home.”
I nod my head, not really wanting to leave but I didn’t want dad mad at me so I say, “I’m going to get my i-pod first and then I’ll leave.” I run upstairs grab my i-pod and leave the house. I was walking for three hours and I stopped at a bench, sat down on it and then I pulled out my phone to see if dad has called yet and he hasn’t. I stay on the bench for a while before I decided to go to the park that was across the street. I got off the bench and walked over to the swings and for an hour I was swinging. My phone started to play ‘Fallen Angels’ by Black Veil Brides so I pulled it out of my pocket and answered it. I forgot to check who it was and the voice who I recognized as my dad says, “You can come home now.” I tell him that I’m on my way and we hang up.
I got off the swing, put my phone back into my pocket and I begin to make my way towards home. I pulled out my i-pod turned it back on and turned it to ‘No matter what’ by Papa Roach. I was whispering the lyrics all the way home and when I arrived at the front door, I shut my i-pod off and walked inside. I noticed that dad wasn’t in the living room so I looked through the entire house and there was no sign of dad. I texted him but he didn’t answer back and that worried me but I also thought maybe he needed some time to himself. I went into my room, placed my i-pod on the desk along with my keys and wallet and then I head back downstairs to wait for dad to come. It was five thirty now and I was getting really worried, no dad and no brothers.
I heard a car pull into the driveway so I got off the couch and went towards the door. I opened it up and Shane is standing there with his keys in hand and I say, “Where is dad at?” Shane gives me a questioning look and he says, “He ain’t here?” I shake my head and then Shane walks in the house and he says, “I didn’t know he left, but I was out driving around.” Shane heads up to his room and when he’s on the top floor, he calls out, “See you tomorrow Raven.” I say the same thing back to him and then I sit on the couch again waiting for dad to show up.
