--before I write this, I just want to say that a Lucy plot happens in this chapter! Okay, read:--
>>Lucy's POV<<
Following the night before's mess...well, I looked a mess. And - ugh, was that a gravy stain? For god sake. It's not my fault that weird Isha or Aaisha girl had to go rage. Now my dress has to pay.
I dumped my (now gravy stained) dress in the washing basket."Oh, Lucy!" Mom moaned, she was carrying a big bag for the just washed clothes. "Haven't you noticed? I just emptied that! This sequence just never ends does it? It's about time you started to help around here. It's not like your father does. He's still sleeping!"
"Um, well, first of all, it's 9AM the only day dad gets a break from work, and it's not my problem if dad is too lazy. It's not my fault dad left us." I sighed. "And second of all, it has a gravy stain. I was going to wear that to meet Ezra!"
Then silence fell upon us and I sighed loudly. Why did I just say that? Ugh.
"You told me you were done with Ezra." She sounded disappointed.
"I am-"
"Then why are you dressing in a fancy dress to meet him?" She looked me in the eye but I didn't know where to look. "To discuss the corrections on your essay?"
"Mom, hear me out-"
"No."She interrupted. "I will not let you see him any longer. It's over, and that's that. He's an older man, and he's your teach-"
"Mom!" I snapped. "He's 22. That's only 6 years older than me!"
"That counts as pedophilia."
"What? No, it doesn't!" I shouted. "I'm old enough to be making my own decisions."
"Not until you leave school." She disagreed. "Fine. Go out with him. But I'll have no part in it when the police get involved."
"Pfft." I laughed. "How will the police get involved? It's not a crime."
"Uh, I think you'll find it is." She looked at me with a smug face. "Students cannot date teachers, especially under the age of 18."
"Well..." I tried to make sense of it all. "How would they find out?"
"Hm, well, I mean, me." She looked so proud of herself. "I'm going to tell them myself."
Everything stood still. I started at the wall. It was all I could focus on. My eyes began to water. How could she do this? How could she ruin everything I have with Ezra? She's my mother. Was I really going to get in trouble like this because of my own mother? I wouldn't let her.
"What?" I shouted. "How can you do this? You don't need to. I am in charge of myself. You don't have to do all of this. I don't understand why you have to. What makes you? Because you don't like the way my life is going? Okay. Fine. I don't care what you think, MOTHER. I will deal with anything and anyone that tries to or does hurt me. You can't control me. Maybe you want to control yourself."
She stormed away from me and she better not be going to the phone.
"Mom!" I ran after her and I found her in the kitchen. "Mom, just promise me you're not going to do this!"
She grabbed her coat without saying anything, and opened the front door.
"Mom! Please!"
Then, the door shut. The first thing I did was run to my room. I tried calling Ezra a few times but he never picked up so I dropped a text.
