Troian's POV
Keegan hadn't texted me back in three days, but he read all of my messages beforehand. I mean, three whole days. That's 72 hours, 4320 minutes and 259200 whole seconds, not even asking me how I was doing. Even a simple emoji would've been fine. I mean, I explored the college for the first time. I met some people, got an idea of where my classes and some of my teachers are, and he doesn't want to ask me how it went? Or if I slept well? Or even if I missed him?
Well, of course I missed him. I'm just not sure if he missed me...
And I can't even make plans to see him if he won't answer my text messages. I'd better just go to his house and hope for the best, because, I think he is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, in all my 17 years of living.
My eyes were glued to the train window. The grass swayed elegantly in the wind. Tree's leaves were pulled back with the twigs as a powerful gust of wind occured. Watching the scenery fade into the fog seemed satisfying to me. Tree after tree, plant after plant, grass after grass after grass. Though each time I'd get something different.
Maybe Keegan was just busy. I can't be his only priority, and plus, he has his own college to deal with. I guess I'm squeezed into the 'non important' category of his life. That's if I'm in it at all anymore.
Just then, the ringtone came from my phone which was in my hand. I smiled. What if it was Keegan?
Looking down at the screen, my smile faded. It was only Lucy. Not that I don't like Lucy - I love her, but I wanted to hear from Keegan more...
Silencing the music, I answered her call.
"Hey." I said, looking out of the window again, keeping my voice low as I didn't want anyone else on the train to hear our conversation.
"Hi! Troian!" Lucy cheered, making me smile a bit. "How've you been? Is college fun? Everyone says it's a blast. Did you go to any parties? Ugh, tell me everything!"
"Uh..." What have I actually done? "Nothing really happened..."
"What do you mean, nothing really happened? Of course something happened, it's college, you were so excite-"
"Lucy." I interrupted. "It's only the induction."
"Yeah, but..." She sighed. "You must've had a dorm. What was it like? Did it remind you of a hotel?"
I rested my head on my knuckles. "N-no, Lucy."
Lucy sighed. "Well, what did it look like? Did you have a room-mate?"
"Yes!" I moaned. "Look, Lucy, I have other things to do..."
"What?" She said with a concerning voice. "Did something happen?"
"No, Lucy!" I snapped, almost shouting since people were starting to look at me. I lowered my voice. "I just- I can't talk right now."
"But, Tr-"
Her voice faded as I hung up the call.
I was stressed. I rested my head in my hands. Keegan had managed to get inside of my head and now somehow he's trapped there. And Lucy asking a billion questions just sent me into overdrive. If she complains about me getting angry then maybe she shouldn't have stressed me out like that.
My eyebrows scrunched at a thought that had just entered my mind. What if it was Alison...?
- not the call. I mean, what if Alison is the thing stopping Keegan from texting me back?
I mean, come on, it's not hard to believe. She's known for kissing taken guys, like Tyler.
My eyes began to water. I pictured Keegan and Alison together. In my mind, Keegan looked happier than he ever has with me. What if Keegan actually doesn't love me anymore? What if that...spark is just...gone for him? What if I'm not enough for him? Is it something I'm not giving him?
