Jealousy

Caleb's POV.

It's been two hours.  Two hours since Hanna left to go have lunch with Kyle.  I haven't even met the guy and I already don't like him.  Ever since Hanna met him, she's been going out with him almost everyday and usually doesn't come home until after midnight.  Now, I know that I shouldn't be jumping to conclusions but I think she's cheating on me with Kyle.

Yeah, she is.  I can feel it.

No she's not.  She would never do that to me, or anyone!  She's too innocent and kind to do that.

She's probably making out with Kyle right now.  Kissing his lips, his cheeks, his neck.  Everywhere possible.  And he's doing the same to Hanna, keeping her off her feet.

No!  I'm telling you, she wouldn't do that!  She loves me and I love her, more than anything in the world.

Used to love you.  She's probably making love right now with her new love named Kyle.

"No!  Shut up!"  I shout to my conscious in my head.  I hated the fact that it could be right.  She could be falling heads over heels for this guy and the worst part?  I can't do anything but stand back and watch her fall into his arms and not mine.

"No Caleb.  Stop thinking like that."  I whisper to myself and try my best to believe it.  But I can't fully commit to that.

I lean my head back onto Hanna's couch and let out a big sigh.  Maybe I should just sleep to get my mind off things for awhile.

So, that's what I did.  I closed my eyes and let myself fall into a shadow of darkness.

Two hours later...

I wake up to hear a lot of clings and just random noises.  I open my eyes and blink a few times to adjust my eyes to the light.

Who the hell is here?  It can't be Hanna, she doesn't usually come home until after midnight.  What time is it anyway?

I reach for my phone that is on the coffee table and read the time.

6:47 p.m.

Could it be a burglar?

I get up from the couch quietly and I grab the bat that is laying by the TV stand.  I quietly follow the noise that led to the kitchen.

When I walk into the kitchen, I see Hanna cooking something over the stove and humming to a song while dancing a little.  Her back was facing me and I let out a breath of relief.

"Hanna, you startled me a bit."  I tell Hanna and she jumps a little and spins around.

"Sorry, but you just startled me too so now we're even."  She says and giggles a bit.

She puts her spoon down and runs to me.  She wraps her arms around my neck and kisses me on the lips.  I kiss her back and wrap my arms around her waist.

"I missed you."  She murmurs against my lips.

"I missed you too."  I say back and kiss her one last time before I pull away.

"Why are you home so early?"  I ask her, confused but happy at the same time.

"Well, after lunch, Kyle and I went shopping at the mall and I missed you.  So, I came home with a present for you."  She says, pecking me quickly and going back to the stove to cook the food.

"A present?  For me?  What is it?"  I ask, excited.

"Yeah, it's on the dining table."  She says, laughing a little.
