Hanna's POV.
I practically ran to my car and quickly started the engine. I was already late for meeting with Kyle and I didn't want him waiting any longer. I was sad that I left Caleb to go and hang out with Kyle but Kyle sounded really different. He didn't sound like his happy self. He sounded so sad and nervous. So, I rushed over to his house. His house was a few minutes away from mine but with all of the traffic in San Francisco, it was about half an hour.
What felt like hours was only minutes, and I finally arrived at Kyle's house. I've been to his house a couple of times. His house was huge! Well, as huge as it can get in San Francisco. But it had five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a loft, and a huge pool.
I parked my car in his two-car driveway and got out, making my way to his front door. I knocked twice and waited impatiently. Kyle opened the door and he looked like a wreck. His once gelled up hair was messed up and he looked like he hasn't shaved in weeks. His shirt was covered in stains and his shorts looked too big for him.
"Hi Han. Thanks for coming." Kyle smiled weakly at me and opened the door wider for me to walk into his house. I walk through the door and notice that his house is a mess! Usually, his house was super clean and neat with the occasional newspaper thrown on the floor. But this time, his coffee table was filled with take-out boxes and plates filled with food. His floor had a few stains on it and his couch had a few chips laying around.
"I know, my house is a mess." Kyle says, reading my mind.
"Yeah, it is. Are you okay?" I ask Kyle, generally concerned for Kyle.
"Have a seat." Kyle ignores my question and motions for me to seat down next to him. I sat down and turned to look at him.
"Okay Kyle, what's going on?" I ask him, getting really worried.
"Do you want anything to drink? Water or anything? I have tea." Kyle, once again, ignores my question.
"No thank you. Now, tell me what's wrong." I command Kyle.
"Are you sure? I have-" Kyle starts to say but I cut him off, getting annoyed and irritated.
"Kyle! Just freaking tell me what's wrong!" I command him sternly.
"Alright. You told me everything about you. Your past, your future, how you are now, everything. I haven't really told you anything though and I think I should." Kyle says. I can tell that he is nervous because his voice is shaky.
I nod, telling him to continue.
"Okay, well, nine years ago I met this beautiful woman named Jessie. Gosh was she beautiful. I have never seen anything or anyone so breathtaking before." He smiled into space.
"Jessie... she was just... amazing. We met at this library here in town. She was reading a book and was so into it that she didn't notice me standing next to her. I laughed at her because she was just so into that book. She looked up at me and a smile made away up to her face. We talked and soon,we became friends and she gave me her number. Ever since that day, I can't ever seem to get her out of my mind. After a few weeks of hanging out with her everyday and being friends, I asked her out on a date which she said yes to. I took her to this seafood restaurant and we had so much fun. After we ate and talked, I took her to a park that was nearby because... well, I just didn't want the date to end. We sat at a bench and we talked. I told her that I liked her a lot and she told me she felt the same. So, I kissed her and asked her to go steady with me. She instantly said yes and from then on, we became inseparable. We dated for three years and then I finally asked her to marry me. She cried and said yes which made me tear up because I was so happy. We got married a year later on October 25, 2009. We were married for a few months and I loved every second with her. I wanted to take her out to somewhere special. So, I rented out the library and decided to take her there. I told her that I was taking her out and that it was a surprise. She loved surprises. We got to the library and we ate take out from the seafood restaurant I took her to for our first date. We had so much fun. We made love on the floor, which probably was sanitary but it was amazing. After hours at the library, we decided to go home. On the way home-" Kyle stopped talking and took a deep breath. I put my hand on his hand for comfort.
