Which Should Not Be

Changing before my eyes, a person I once knew

Full of light and deep love, I suppose he outgrew

I waited for today, yet today never came

It approached, but stopped short or went fully off aim

He once before did care for my heart and my mind

Can't ignore obvious, that's not how I'm designed

So I write it down here in hopes that he may see

Remind him of his loss if he's forgotten me

I am a special girl, treat me as I deserve

Worth every moment, love with vigor and verve

May seem like an old toy, but only to this guy

He once knew me closely, but now there is no try

I feel lonelier next to him, which shouldn't be

Yet every day feels more like a nobody

My cry goes unheard, lost in the bustle of life

One would only think you'd hear the one you call wife
