She, who I love so dearly, wrote my first thoughts in my diary.

She, who left me notes on my napkins in my lunchbox.

She, who sewed my dresses. She, who waited up at nights.

She, who understood my pain, as I cried myself to sleep.

Why would you love me, when I caused you the most pain?

You have touched my heart by just being you, my wonderful mother, all my life.

You filled my world with love, I could never ask for anything more.

You picked me up when the pain of the world came crushing down.

You made me feel special in a school full of gifted students.

You took solace in my happiness, although it wasn't yours.

I will forever be indebted to you, my mother, by choice.
