There is history of a dragon
that souls devoted their lives to catch
arrogance led me into the heart
but the fiend in me had met their match
Gallant on my horse I thought I was
too messed up to see the blatant truth
too consumed with chasing a myth while
the horse I rode infected my youth
The dark conquered my life, swift and fast
my world bloomed poppies behind my back
stuck in naivety of no future
no horizons beyond the drear black
With no regrets, I tell my story
because the sun rose in the shadow
I was given a chance to escape
diabolical depths far below
I was near the edge of no return
when the light entered my wretched cave
giving me a path to save myself
I took that road, no longer a slave
Like a lost boy returned to his mom
I held my life tightly once again
never could I forget the evil
always remember, forever amen
