When death comes to us
Open arms welcome
For a sweet embrace
Of the beating drum
The constant rhythm
We saw in distance
Creeps close 'til one day
Comes for existence
The day will be dark
Earthly beings shorn
Hands are torn apart
Nothing stops the mourn
Materials left
As the spirit goes
Name and truth remains
For history knows
May one's name prove good
Through actions and deeds
Gentle words recalled
As the life recedes
Regretting nothing
As you learned from all
A slave to righteous
For soon, in death's thrall
All those who corrupt
Leaving behind trash
Rippling mankind's pool
In a violent splash
Souls of the sorry
Death will feed on fear
Destroying what's left
The name once held dear
Forsaking your home
Grieving will lament
Poison you bequeath
Loved ones in torment
Innocent martyred
Guilt you can't escape
Disgracing young ones
Leaving shame to rape
Though we don't see you
It's like you're still here
Names linked to reproach
Others left to revere
Old homes remember
All those who depart
Feet that have traversed
Remain in it's heart
So leave this abode
With deliberate steps
The name left behind
Your family now reps
