[A/N This is my first fanfiction, so I'll be happy if anyone reads it. If you like it, please leave feedback. Thanks!:)]
I stepped through the gates of Amador Valley High School. It was a large school, about three times the size of my old school in Oregon. 140 staff, 2,400 students, 15 buildings and one Luna with no friends. At least I had been able to convince my mom to not move until the end of the previous year so that I would start this year on the same day as everyone else. That day also just so happened to be my fifteenth birthday.
I tried to hurry to math with my head slightly down, scrolling through instagram without actually looking at any of the feed. My mind was totally focused on getting to my location that I didn't see the tall blonde coming from my right. I registered that he was there, I thought that it would probably be smart to stop walking, and then we collided. My phone dropped from my hand and collided with the uneven cement of the quad. The boy stooped to pick up what remained of my phone. I stared at the shattered screen.
"That can't be good," said the blonde. He had a slight Australian accent which caused him to draw out his a's.
"Thank you," I said, reaching out my hand for the useless electronic.
"Naw," he said. "I made you drop it and therefore I'll get it fixed for you."
I stared at him in confusion. "How can you fix it? It's dead. Plus, how can I trust you not to just steal it?"
"You're a quick thinker, I like that. Tell ya what. I'll give you my phone for the day if you promise to meet me at this spot after school and then I'll take you with me to get your phone fixed." And he offered me his phone.
I thought for a couple seconds before tentatively reaching out my hand and taking his phone. "Deal," I said as the first bell for class rang.
"Awesome, hack you later."
I watched him bound off and jump on the back of a considerably shorter Indian boy. He stumbled under his weight before two other boys stabilized the two and they started walking off.
I stared at the phone in my hand and I flipped it over gingerly. The case was black except for a pixelated minecraft fish. I was slightly taken aback because the boy didn't seem like someone who would play minecraft. However I couldn't really judge him because I didn't even know his name.
Suddenly remembering that I had to get to my first class and that the quad was emptying out fast, I speed-walked to math and through the door just as the one-minute warning bell sounded. I looked around at the desks grouped in fours around the room. I saw one empty table in the back and was about to sit down when someone yelled "hey" and I looked up. A guy with chocolate brown hair and small eyes was gesturing in my direction. I looked behind me and saw no one. As I turned back to look at the boy, he had somehow walked across the room and was standing a foot away from my face. I jumped back in surprise.
"Are you the girl?" He asked.
"What girl?" I questioned in return, but I got the feeling that I knew what the answer was going to be.
"Did Lachlan break your phone this morning?"
I nodded yes and he immediately wrapped his hand around my shoulders, grabbed my backpack and started leading me to a table where three other boys sat staring at us as we walked over. He set down my bag at a desk and then grabbed a desk from the adjacent table and added it to the one we were sitting at.
"Welcome," he said.
