As the day progressed, I started to re-think what I had agreed to in math. I didn't even really know what I had agreed to. Side was in my English class, AP world history class and Spanish class. He was really nice and a lot like me. When I got to third period chemistry I was disappointed that Side wasn't there, but a little happier when I met Kara. She told me that she was dating Brandon and was excited that another girl was finally going to join the group. Speedy and his friend Joel were also in my chemistry class. Joel was a very interesting person, but I liked him. Kara invited me to sit with her group, HTM, at lunch, but Speedy said I couldn't sit with any of the three groups until I had been voted into one. I was actually okay with not feeling obligated to sit with anyone because I really just wanted to go to the library and finish my homework since I had no idea what I would be doing over the weekend.

I finished my three math problems in five minutes, so I decided to try and unlock Lachlan's phone. I didn't really know anything about him so I tried his name first. The phone vibrated and reset. I thought again, flipping his phone in my hands and I noticed the minecraft fish on the case. I tried typing in minecraft. No. I tried fish. No. I got angry and typed fish fish fish and it miraculously unlocked. What the heck I thought. The phone opened into Lachlan's messages between someone named Vikk with a heart next to her name. Vikk was a strange name for a girl, but it must be short for something else. I felt like I had already seen too much so I locked the phone again and pulled out my book to read the rest of lunch away.

As the end of the day drew nearer I began to get nervous. I glanced at the clock every 30 seconds.

"What's wrong?" asked Side. He was so nice and caring. Even though we had only met that day, I felt like I had known him forever.

"Nothing," I replied a little too quickly.

"Come on Luna. You keep looking at the clock and you're not doing your work. What's wrong?"

"I'm just nervous. I don't know any of your friends and I have no idea what any of this "induction" thing is. It's just been the strangest birthday I've ever had."

"Wait, it's your birthday? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Oh. I guess I just sort of forgot with everything that has happened today."

"I guess we'll just have to throw you a party this weekend then."

I looked at him, slightly petrified, "Please no Side. Don't tell them. I don't want anyone to make a big deal of my birthday."

He put up his hands defensively, "Okay, okay." And then he put his hand on top of mine, which was lying on my notebook. Cold shivers ran through my body at his touch. "I won't tell them if you don't want me too, but they will find out."

The bell rung shrilly. Side didn't move his hand from mine so I slowly extricated mine from under his. As I pulled it away, he looked at me with disappointment in his eyes. I packed my things into my bag and stood, slinging my backpack over one shoulder. Side led the way through the door and then slowed his pace to walk beside me. My heart began to pound as we walked down the stairs to the quad. I reached for Side's hand and intertwined my fingers into his. He turned his head to look at me and I saw the smile that spread across his lips.
