Chapter Five: Luna

[A/N Sorry for the long absence. Hope you guys enjoy this chapter!:)]

     I followed obediently behind Kara as she led me to the student parking lot and then opened the door of a silver truck and told me to get in. She sat next to me and Lachlan took the seat on my other side. Every time I thought or said that word I thought of Side. I touched the palm of my right hand and could almost feel the warmth that his grasp had left there. I was unsure as to why he had let go of my hand so suddenly when we had entered the quad, but I wasn't going to question it. The reason probably had something to do with his friends and was none of my business anyways.

     "So are you ready to get your phone fixed? Oh, and can I have mine back?" Lachlan asked me. 

     It took me a moment to realize what he was talking about before I replied, "yeah. What exactly is going to happen this weekend?"

     From the driver's seat Joel let out a low laugh. "You'll see. You're gonna just-"

     "No," I cut across Joel, suddenly angry. "I can't even count how many times you guys have said that to me today. Just tell me already. Whatever it is, I'm going to do it."

     Everyone stared at me after my outburst and then Lachlan and Kenny exchanged looks and finally Kenny said, "You're going to have to go into the Minecraft universe for a day and survive. That's what it takes to be in our group. We chose which of the three subgroups you're a part of by how you survive the day."

     The car was silent as I took in what I'd just learned. I'd played minecraft on and off for a few years, but I wouldn't say that I was that good. "You mean, me, as in real life me, has to survive in minecraft? With the zombies and skeletons and spiders? For a day?"

     Kenny nodded in reply. 

     "But how is that possible?" I questioned. 

     "We don't really know ourselves," said Lachlan. "There's a lot more to explain about what our group is and you can ask any questions you want, but we have to wait until everyone is there. Is that okay?"

     "I guess. At least I know what the induction thing is now, and that's really all I wanted."

     "Awesome! Now let's go get your phone fixed and get back to Rob's!"
