When Luna disappeared from the game, I had a total freak out. I had already been working up to it, but then everything just kind of exploded in my brain and I flipped out completely. When we found her and she wouldn't wake up, I had a second freak out. I was a total mess, but no one gave me any flack about it. I'd been sitting with her since we found her and a couple times Speedy brought me some food, but I couldn't eat. People would randomly stop in to check on Luna as well, but it was 2 in the morning when she finally woke up so everyone else was asleep.

"Which group, Side? Which group am I in?" she asked as I was leaving the room.

I couldn't bring myself to say the words that would be the barrier between us ever being together. My face betrayed me and I saw the tears well in her eyes as she understood. She was so goddamn smart that I should have expected the results of her induction. I turned away and strode out before I started to cry as well. I stopped by the bathroom before I woke up everyone. I gazed at my reflection before splashing water in my face. I looked like crap, although I guess that's what I deserve for being up for more than 24 hours straight.

"You look like crap man." Came a voice from the doorway. I started at the voice and looked into the mirror, water streaming down my face. It was Shadow.

"I thought you were asleep," I said.

"I'm a light sleeper and I heard you talking to Luna. So, she's awake then?"

I nodded and grabbed a towel to dry my face.

"Be careful, Side. You can't be with her, so don't let yourself fall in love." Shadow said gently. I had never heard him speak to me with so much caring in his voice and it caught me off guard.

"I already am in love with her though." I admitted, then immediately covered my mouth. Why was I telling Shadow?

His mouth opened and eyes widened slightly in surprise. Then his face set, "That's not possible. You met her two days ago Sidearms! Have you ever even been in love? Do you know what it feels like?"

His sudden anger startled me slightly. "I'm in love right now, Shadow! With Luna and I know it's real love. How do you know what love feels like?"

His baseball cap cast a dark shadow over his eyes, but even in the dim light of the bathroom I could see a light pink flush his cheeks. "I never said I did." With that he turned and stomped from the bathroom. I was totally confounded by this exchange. I could hear the sound of people waking up in the living room so I went to deliver my news.

Shadow was in the process of waking everyone up and I helped him. When everyone was awake I said, "Luna woke up." Everybody began talking at once and Kara was trying to get everyone to shut up so that she could talk.

"Shut the fuck up!" yelled Shadow.

I looked at him, but he wouldn't meet my gaze.

"Thanks Shadow," said Kara. "Okay let's just treat this like nothing weird happened. Normal induction. Side, can you go get her?"

"I'm here." Luna stood in the hallway.

"Good," said Kara. "You should sit in that chair in the middle of the room and we'll tell you your group."

Luna walked to the chair. She seemed to be more confident in herself now that she wasn't worried about going in the game. She didn't even know that that was the least of her problems for the future. Her eyes were still slightly red from crying, but I hoped no one else noticed.

Mat stepped up to Luna's chair. "First, let's review the possible ways to get into each group. If you had fought mobs, then you would belong in The Pack. If you had tried to build a house for protection from the mobs or had hidden underground, you would belong in The Crew. If you had used some sort of tactic to kill mobs or protect yourself than you would belong in HTM. Now for what you did. You do not belong in The Pack because you didn't try to fight mobs. You are the first person in the history of our groups to think of sleeping in order to leave the game faster. This could be considered as hiding from having to complete the task fully, which would put you in The Crew. Or it could be considered smart because you got out of the game faster and it didn't seem to have any true consequences other than you getting to take a nice long nap. Because it wasn't obvious we had to resort to taking a vote and the majority was HTM! Congrats, you're part of our group now!" Mat reached for a fist bump that Luna weakly returned.

Brandon, Choco, Kara, and Kenny circled Luna, giving her congratulations and welcoming her to the group. However, the only person she had eyes for was me and the only person I had eyes for was her.
