Even though I was standing in minecraft, I still hadn't completely wrapped my head around the fact that I was standing in minecraft. I saw a creeper right when I got here, but I didn't have anything and figured it would be safer to just avoid it because it wasn't aggroed on me. I've been mindlessly killing animals for the last couple of minutes while trying to figure out what to do next. Because I only have to survive the night there's no use in even trying to go mining. It would probably be smart to get into the trees in order to avoid the mobs once night falls.
I began to head for the forest I could see about 50 blocks away. When I got to a pretty decently sized tree, I dug the dirt up in a circle around the tree so the mobs couldn't get anywhere near me. I was so freaking scared for the night that I was being ten times safer than I am when I normally play minecraft. As the sun began to set, I chopped down a couple trees to get some wood and then built up into my tree.
While digging my moat in the dirt I had found some cobblestone so I built a couple furnaces to cook up my food and make a couple torches. I waited for my food to cook and looked out over the field. Although I was still slightly trembling out of fear, I had to admit that it was quite beautiful. I had noticed minecraft's subtle majesty before, but it was different actually being here. The sky was blue with twinkling stars and the moon was bright and shining, casting an eerie glow over the world.
That's when an idea struck me. When I played solo minecraft I never really was able to admire the night sky because I slept through it. I wondered if I could do the same here. Whether it worked or not, it was worth a try.
I quickly rummaged through my inventory and found three pieces of wool and three wood planks. I ran to my crafting table, eager to test my theory. I placed down the bed and took a deep breath of hope before laying down and closing my eyes.
Seconds later my eyelids fluttered and opened to look up into Side's face. He was holding my hand, stroking my palm with his fingers. It tickled slightly, but I didn't pull away.
His eyes widened as he saw that I was awake. "Luna," he breathed. "You're okay."
"Yeah, of course," I said, confused at his tone of relief. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"We didn't know because no one has gotten out the way you did. Ever. You've been asleep for a day."
I sat up quickly in surprise and accidentally slammed my forehead into Side's.
He rubbed his head, "oww."
"I'm sorry. I've been asleep for a day?"
"Yeah. When you went to sleep in the bed, none of us thought it was going to work. We thought it was just going to tell you that you couldn't sleep or something. But then you disappeared from the game entirely. Everyone started freaking out. Then Choco, being the minecraft genius he is, thought that since you'd left the game while you were in a bed that maybe you'd come back in a bed. I found you here, in Rob's bed. We didn't know how to wake you up so I've just been sitting here waiting for you to."
I was at a complete loss for words at this statement. "You-you didn't have to Side." I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks as I blushed.
"I should tell the others that you're awake. They'll be happy and excited to induct you into your group."
He began to rise, but I caught his hand. "Which group, Side? Which group am I in?"
His face fell and I felt my face flush again, but this time with sadness.
