G was heavy, and the fact that he was struggling against my grip wasn't helping. I didn't know where I was going, but I didn't want to seem stupid by asking someone. Everyone in our group was silent as they followed me.

Luna came up beside me and put her hand in mine. "Do you know what you're doing?" She whispered into my ear.

"No idea," I admitted.

She raised her voice and called to the others, "Let's stop here and eat and rest."

I lowered G carefully to the ground and noticed that he had fallen asleep. His face was slightly red from crying, but he looked peaceful in sleep.

D4 dropped his backpack to the ground and said loudly, "I've been carryin' that sack of ores for miles and my back is killin' me."

"That's filled with ores?" Vikk asked.

"Yeah."

"Great, let's re-equip. Can someone make a furnace?"

I looked in my backpack and pulled out eight pieces of cobble. Vikk placed down a crafting table and I made the furnace. I turned back to Luna and found her placing her backpack under G's head. She sat with her back against a tree and then noticed me gazing at her. She smiled at me and then leaned her head against the tree trunk and closed her eyes.

I sat with D4 and Vikk and helped them craft weapons. D4 had actually returned with a decent amount of diamonds. He had enough to make each of us a new sword and a new enchantment table, as well as a chest piece which we gave to Vikk since he was the best at pvp.

I was just about to doze off with my sharpness diamond sword secured in its sheath when I heard a block being placed nearby.

"Did you hear that?" I asked Vikk.

"I did. Block being placed you think?" He answered, wrapping his fingers around the hilt of his sword. He stood and tapped D4's shoulder, stirring him from his slumber. I walked stealthily over to Luna and shook her shoulder to wake her as well.

I put my finger to my lips, "We're being attacked. Wake G."

G made a small whimpering noise upon being awoken and Luna placed her hand over his mouth to quiet him. He understood, got slowly to his feet and I gave each Luna and G a sword.

Our group retreated to a mountainside cave and hid just within the entrance. I watched as the Peace group emerged from the trees and approached our hiding place. There were five of them; Choco, Mitch, D20, Joel and a man I didn't recognize.

The familiar surge of violence came over me and Vikk gave the signal to attack. We ran at the group, five on five, and each of us engaged a combatant. I ran into Joel. I was better than him, but I couldn't seem to get in a killing blow. I noticed Luna fighting D20 beside me and they were evenly matched. In the few seconds I watched her fight, she dodged a stab, ran away from the rest of the fighting, which caused D20 to follow, then she threw a potion of harming at his feet.

I was brought back to my own battle by Joel swinging his sword inches from my face. I leapt back in surprise and suddenly Luna was at my side. We fought perfectly as a team and Joel was overpowered by us. Luna plunged her weapon into Joel's chest and he fell.

Their group seemed to be retreating. Someone else had fallen as well and now they were down in numbers and knew it.

"Wait! Everyone stop fighting!"

Everyone still fighting immediately halted and looked towards the voice. Speedy stepped on to the battlefield his arms outstretched in an attempt to stop the fighting from ensuing once again. I pointed my sword at him and took a step forward to attack, but Luna placed a hand on my chest and held me back.

"We don't have to fight. We can control ourselves, just try to overpower the desire to kill each other. If we work together then we can beat the game and get out of here. If I was able to do it with Shadow, then you all can do it with each other."

With this statement, Shadow appeared from behind Speedy and there was an audible intake of breath from my left.

G sprinted at Shadow and jumped into his arms. The older man staggered under his weight, but then hugged G tightly. Their lips connected and they kissed for so long that my presence started to feel uncomfortable.

"See," Speedy said when the two finally broke apart. "They l-love each other still even though they're in separate groups, and so can we."

Our groups looked at each other and then Vikk extended his hand to Mitch, "truce?"

Mitch shook his hand, "truce."

----

Everyone was catching up with each other while D4 nursed D20 back to health from the potion of harming. I stood with Luna while Speedy introduced us to Bdubs who had joined the game later. He seemed very nice and he was hilarious.

Every time I looked at anyone from the Peace group I still felt the urge to hurt them bubbling up, but I was able to suppress it. It helped that each time I got this feeling I would tighten my grip on Luna's hand and she would peck my cheek to comfort me and the feeling would pass.

Vikk and Mitch were digging graves for Joel and Choco, who had died in the fight. I think that their deaths almost hurt the most just because they had died seconds before they could have been saved.

Shadow and G had wandered into the cave about half an hour ago in order to be alone. I could only imagine what they were doing. Actually, I'd rather not imagine it. Bdubs and Luna were having a deep conversation about colleges, like this were just a normal day at school so I kissed Luna and released her hand to join Speedy where he was sitting by himself.

"Hey," I said. This time I felt no bubble of violence.

"Hey." He sounded tired and sad. He was looking at the cave entrance.

"Are you okay? Like, really?" I asked.

"I'll be fine. I just had a hope that will never become a reality."

"What was it? Maybe I can help."

"You can't sweetheart," He looked to me and his eyes were puffy. "I love you for caring, but you can't."

I put a shoulder around him, "I really wish I could, Speedy. I love ya, man."

----

That night, Luna and I slept in the small hut she constructed for us. I was very thankful for her smart thinking because everyone else was sleeping outside and I didn't really feel like worrying about mobs attacking us.

Luna fell asleep almost instantly and she tucked her head up against my chest. I, on the other hand, couldn't sleep so I ran my fingers through her silky blonde hair. I realized just how devastating this season had been. We'd lost nine people out of an original seventeen. Then we had gotten three people back who we thought we had lost and a new member.

The game had totally fucked with us this year. I hit a knot in Luna's hair and she took in her breath sharply.

"Ouch," she mumbled into my chest.

I pulled my hand free from her hair, "You're awake?"

"Of course. I can't sleep knowing that Kara and Brandon are out there somewhere and they haven't agreed to our truce."

"I completely forgot about them. But, we shouldn't worry about them. They said they wouldn't bother us anymore." My fingers returned to her hair.

Luna tilted her head so that she looked into my eyes. In the faint glow of the torch, the yellow in her eyes was more pronounced and they glimmered slightly with the flicker of the flame.

"You're so beautiful," I said. She blushed cutely and a smile spread across her lips.

She propped up her head on her arm and looked down at me. I grabbed her waist and pulled her on top of me. Her hair tickled my face and she lowered her head so that our lips met.
