Chapter Ten

Merry Late Christmas everyone! Hope you all had a fun, safe, and happy holidays! 

"Delly?" Clove says confused.

"Hey!" She smiles and waves. What is she doing here? It is almost curfew..

"Um.. Hey.. Where's Finnick?" Clove asks. Is this like some kind of rebound? He didn't date Annie but maybe it could still be one. It probably felt like a breakup to him.

"He's not here right now.. I don't think so. Peeta? Is Finnick here?" Delly calls back.

What. I swear, If Delly is with Peeta...

"No he's at Johanna's- Oh hey Katniss, Clove." Peeta smiles. Usually his smile brightens my day and would make my stomach full of butterflies but not today.

"Hi." I plainly say, "Let's go to Johannas."

"Okay.." Clove says as she turns around.

Delly cheerfully waves goodbye and closes the door.

"So...who is Delly?" I ask walking to Johannas.

"Peeta's girlfriend." She answers.

My heart sinks. No.

We get to Johanna's dorm and knock on the door. Finnick answers with his hair a mess and wearing the same clothes as before. He greets us with a simple "Hey." His voice is raspy, it looks like he just woke up.

Clove and I don't wait for him to let us in. We walk in and take a seat on the couch. Johanna must have went somewhere because she is nowhere to been seen.

Finnick is sitting on another couch facing ours. "So." He says breaking the silence.

"Where were you the rest of the school day? We were worried sick!" Clove questions.

"Where do you think? Here." Finnick snaps.

"Why'd you leave?" Clove asks.

"Because I wanted to. Anymore questions mom?" He says with annoyance in his tone.

Clove raises an eyebrow because that's clearly not the reason he left.

"Okay. Don't believe me. I don't see a point of you asking me if you think you know why." He retorted.

"Finnick, I'm really sorry." I say with sympathy. "I know what you're going through."

"Thank you Katniss for not hiding the fact you know why I'm upset." He shoots a glare at Clove. "But you don't really know what it feels like."

"Really?" I question him.

"Really." He responds.

"I really like Peeta but he's dating Delly whose perfect and I'm not." I accidentally spit out.

Finnick looks shocked, but Clove is smirking.

"I knew it!!!!" She smiles.

"Okay, well it doesn't matter because he doesn't like me back and I don't have a chance with him." I say, but regret it. I don't want Finnick to give up on Annie because I think they have a chance.

"Don't say that yet." Clove smiles. What??
