Chapter Four

"So, found any cute guys you wanna go out with yet?" Clove smirks.

I laugh, "I just got here Clove! I only met your group of friends really."

"Okay, Okay. You'll find someone soon, I mean you have too. We both do. The formals like, in two weeks! Sorry for going on and on, I'm usually not this girly." She laughs.

"Oh really?" I jokingly nudge her.

"I promise." She smiles.

*BEEP* Cloves phone rings. "Hey, you wanna go over to Finnick's?" She asks.

"Just us?" I ask unsure.

"Nah, everyone. And even if it's just us don't worry, Finn is cool. He seems like a fuckboy but he's actually a nice guy." She says which makes laugh.

"Alright then, let's go."

We all arrive at Finnick's, and just tell each other about ourselves, obviously just so I get to know them. I'm not gonna get into details, it'll take to long. But my favorite part of this would have to be Johanna complaining that her brother Jeff didn't come to this school and he was a wimpy ass hoe that wouldn't get far in life. Those were her exact words. She's probably my favorite.

After learning about each other Marvel suggests we watch a movie. We all agree, but not on the movie choice.

"Mean Girls!" Finch throws in a suggestion. The girls, aside from Johanna, all want to watch it. Meanwhile the guys (+ Johanna) groan.

"The Godfather!" Gale adds another. The reactions are reversed. So that one doesn't work either.

"Dear John!" Glimmer pitches in. Everyone groans, except Glimmer, who says "What?! It's a good movie!"

"I'm not in the mood for a sob story" Annie says, and everyone agrees.

"The Conjuring?" I say. Everyone agrees, except Annie.

"I'm not in the mood to be piss myself, but we can't find a movie everyone agrees on, so play it." She shyly laughs, and everyone joins.

Finnick buys the movie, and everyone sits around the TV with the popcorn that Cato just made in the middle.

Soon enough, the scary shit starts happening. Finch, I mean foxface, is curled in a ball with her blankets. Clove and Cato are sitting next to each other on the edge of their seat. I'm with them, doing the same.

Thresh on the other hand, looks bored out his mind. Weird. Johanna is the complete opposite. She's laughing at the scary parts. Yea, she's my favorite.

Peeta's beside me yelling at the characters. He's saying they're stupid for their actions in the movies, but if it was him in the situation he'd be doing the same. He's still cute doing it though. Stop it Katniss!

Annie is freaking out, I guess she's not good with these movies. She buries her head in Finnick's shoulder, causing him to smirk. He puts his arm around her and pulls her in closer. Classic guy move. Bleh.

I then look at Gale, who is giving the couple (or whatever they are??) a glare. What is going on here? Wish they talked about this in the get to know each other circle thing.

My thoughts are interrupted by Marvel's snores. "Dude, Shut up!" Finch complains while throwing the remote at him. Marvel gets mad and turns the movie off, causing everyone to boo.

"Holy shit! It's 12! Curfew was 10." Glimmer panics. "Alright well this is where we say goodbye, see you in hell tomorrow." Cato says leaving. "Thank God that movie is over." Annie says grabbing her jacket and exits the door. Everyone scurries off to their rooms. I walk with Clove to ours, it's the next hallway down.

"That was so fun." Clove says walking into our room.

"I know right! Hey, tomorrow you wanna try picking up dates to the formal. You know it's like only two weeks away" I say like she did earlier.

"Yeah, I don't know if I'm gonna go anymore.." Her voice trails off.

"What?! Why?" I ask, she seemed so excited this morning. What changed her mind.

"Well.. this guy I like-" I cut her off.

"Clove we're gonna live together for the next year. You gotta tell me everything" I say jokingly but i'm serious.

"Okay.. I'll start over. Well.... Cato-" I cut her off again.

"You like Cato!?" I'm shocked.

"Are you ever gonna let me finish?" She laughs, but like a sad pity laugh, if you know what I mean.

"Okay, so I like Cato. But he doesn't like me. I only wanna go with him. And I don't want to go alone. And I don't want to see him have fun and stuff with his date, probably Glimmer." She sighs.

"Clove, how do you know he likes Glimmer and not you? Did you ever tell him how you feel?" I say, I'm not good with relationship advice. She probably figured that out now.

"Are you crazy?! Do you see the way he looks at her?" She says with loss of hope in her voice.

"Well, actually no because I literally only got here today." I laugh. Clove is not amused. I try again. "Don't give up.. I'm sure you're overthinking. Plus who was he hanging out with today in the movie? That's right you." I smile and nudge her with my elbow.

"Yea..maybe you're right, hopefully you are." She says "Thank you Katniss."

"No problem." I say. There's an awkward silence. I break it. "Are Finnick and Annie dating?" I don't want to be confused.

"Do you like Finnick?" She asks with concern. I almost laugh at the question.

"No. Are Finnick and Annie dating?" I repeat my question.

"Good. And no, why?" She asks another question.

"I don't know, it just seems- Are Gale and Annie dating?" I ask.

"Do you like Gale?" She asks with concern again.

"No, Clove-"

"Do you like Annie?" She asks in the same serious tone.

 This time I do laugh. My laughing answers her question.

"Good because that'd be awkward for Peet-" She stops. What? What about Peeta? She ignores what she said and answers my old question. "No, Annie is not dating anyone, And No. Gale and Finnick are not dating either."

"What about Peeta?" I ask. Peeta had nothing to do with this conversation, why'd she bring him up?

"Nevermind. Why'd you ask about Annie and them?" She ignores my question. I hate when people "nevermind" me.

"Oh, well it was like an Annie showdown at Finnick's. She was like all cuddly with Finnick. And it looked like Gale was mad. Really mad. He wasn't before that." I explain.

"Annie and Finnick were best friends for like ever. They do that couple stuff without realizing it. It doesn't make it awkward for them either. Gale, well I don't know. Gale's just.. weird." She shrugs.

"Well it seemed like Finnick realized. He seemed to be enjoying the attention." I say still somewhat confused.

"Oh? Well, I don't know. They're not gonna tell us anything, so i guess it's up to us to snoop around and figure it out." She smiles.

"Alright, the mission's set. Start acting tomorrow. Look for anything suspicious." I laugh.

We both decided to go to bed so we aren't like the walking dead the next morning. I'm still confused with this whole situation.

But i'm more confused at something else, that i don't have an answer too.

Why'd she bring up Peeta?

I guess I have to do some investigations by myself.
