Repetitive

It's always the same... The dreams, he meant. He'd go to sleep every night as usual, and lay silently until he faded out into another one of his repetitive dreams with the blonde girl and the light blue eyes.
She'd come to him at night through his window, and sit on the edge of his bed looking down. Lucas never understood why she'd do it, but the girl would glance at him and sigh. And she'd move closer to him, lean down and kiss his lips slightly. They felt so warm against his; so intoxicating with the taste of vanilla. And she'd lean up and smile calmingly while the boys heart would palpitate. She'd get up, smooth out her black leggings and curly blonde hair, and climb out of his window.
These dreams happened at least a couple of times a week in the new month of December. And each and every morning, Lucas would wake up and be drowning in questions and his mouth at a loss of breath.

But there was a night he had stayed up drinking hot chocolate and watching an old Christmas movie because he had heard his friends were going to be celebrating with their families that holiday. He began to slowly drift off, but his second wind kept him stable, so he perked up and continued to watch. He watched the black and white movie; watched the kids smile and laugh as they put presents underneath the Christmas tree and danced all around. A smile played upon his lips, and thought himself silly for he was watching a Christmas movie all by himself. As he was consumed in his thoughts of the events happening, his head grew tired and his eyes began to close as the back of his head rested against the bed stand.
A couple of minutes later, his bedroom window opened and the boy slowly awoke with the cold air dancing upon his skin. His eyes opened just enough to have the girl oblivious to his alertness. She climbed in, and her hair was covered with small snowflakes probably from the outside's winter night. She rubbed her arms in a small quiet shiver and looked at the boy with a smile. And, like every dream, she walked over to him and sat on his bed. Lucas's eyes remained almost squinted;  but he could see the girl pretty clearly. She smiled as she looked at the unknowingly awake boy, leaned over and kissed his lips like she's done before. Lucas opened his eyes slowly at the closed eyes girl in front of him, and kissed her back as he sat up. She immediately pulled away and looked at Lucas. It was no other than Maya Hart. Lucas seemed to be almost as surprised as she had been.
"You're.. Real. Like, really real." Lucas's hand caressed her shoulder and she sucked in a breath.
"You're not supposed to be awake right now, you're supposed to be sleeping. This wasn't supposed to happen." Maya backed away from him, but the boy held her closer.
"So none of that was a dream?" He asked as she tried to put words together and form a sentence. But she couldn't say much, because she was sincerely worried about any of his reactions to what she had been doing. He had the pieces put together.
"No." She choked out. Maya hesitantly looked into the boys eyes and he smiled.
"Every morning I'd wake up breathless. Because I would feel something light on my skin a couple of times a week. And I'd come to school, and I'd see your cheeks turn a color." He explained. "And little did I know." Maya bit down on her full bottom lip and he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "But how come?"
"Lucas.." She began, putting her soft hand on the side of his neck, caressing the skin. "I've been in love with you for years." And that was when Lucas closed the space between the two and kissed her for the first time. That was real, and they were both awake and alert. She kissed him back and wrapped her legs around his waist as she pulled herself closer to him, so they were pressed against each other. He fell back on his bed with her on top, and all they did was kiss. It was so new and desperate that they needed to get all the tension out of their system. She caressed his hair back and gently tugged on the end of his shirt, mentally asking to pull the fabric off. Answering her thoughts, he grabbed his grey shirt and tugged up until it was over and off of him. She trailed kisses down his neck as he caressed her blonde hair and she swears she almost hear a vibration come from the back of his throat. She smirked and leaned back as she took her shirt off also, exposing her see-through tank top. They rolled around until he was on top and began to kiss down her neck. She closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his back, pulling him down close to her as their lips met again. They couldn't get enough of each other and there was so much heat in that room and in that very moment, so the whole room was completely electrified and warm. The two were so consumed in each other and he loved this girl so much. He just wanted more and more--
-
Lucas flinched and woke up with a jolt. He took a breath and realized it was only a dream. How could've it been a dream? His hands were shaking uncontrollably and his forehead was sweating. He sighed and checked the time, which read 2:59am. Settling his phone down, Lucas closed his eyes and laid back in his bed comfortably. But one minute later, he felt his window open. His eyes opened widely as he saw Maya, in her black trench coat and slightly damp blonde curly hair. She looked pretty vulnerable, and turned to Lucas. She almost gasped, but bit her lip.
"Hi Lucas." She greeted.
"Hey.. What're you doing here in the middle of the night?" Lucas stuttered.
"You're not supposed to be awake right now, you're supposed to be sleeping. This wasn't supposed to happen." Maya said, almost to herself. This formed a twist in the boy's chest. She had said that in the dream.
"So..." He uncomfortably said his part. "None of that was a dream?"
"No." She sat down next to him, looking at him. "It's just.. My mom works really late nowadays, and I don't like being alone at night. Plus, your house is a lot closer than Riley's. I just didn't want to be alone." She shrugged. Lucas realized she wasn't kissing him; that was his dream-and only his dream. He only saw her come in, but the rest began to fog.
"Yeah, it's fine. You should've told me earlier." He said, exhaling in relief as she looked at him. Her eyes began to fill with tears and she looked down. "Maya, are you alright?" She looked back up at him, and then completely broke down in tears. He caught her in a hug, and she cried against his chest near his neck. He caressed her back as she silently cried, hugging for a long time.
She eventually crawled into his bed and he laid down beside her, staring into her eyes.
"Lucas?" She spoke softly.
"Yeah?"
Maya leaned forward and gave him a kiss. She pulled away soon after and sheepishly smiled.
"Thank you."
