The blond ran down the streets of New York with her heart beating hard through her chest. She was utterly frantic and knew how it felt to be loved by Lucas Friar. Each step she took while running, Maya began remembering how it felt to love him back.

Drizzling rain flew through her hair as she ran past people, heading toward Lucas's apartment, their apartment. A smile was drawn onto her face as her feet carried her faster.

She was finally going to have her ending with the one person in the world that understood and loved her like crazy. Regardless of her unfulfilled memory, she'd learn things over. Because that's the kind of thing you do for a person you love.

The feelings returned to her like the drizzling rain, hitting her each and every second; rough yet gentle. A small part of her clouded guiltiness, remembering her mother's worried look she gave when Maya rushed out of the house. It was too late now, though. She was almost halfway there and things were going to be better this time.

She swore she could feel her memory returning. Just as soon as she sees his face.

Maya could see their future becoming bright each and every beat of her heart. Morning kisses, warm exchanges of smiles, holding hands on the patio of their house, goodbye kisses, night cuddles on the bed they shared and each and every hello for the rest of their lives. It was all right there, she could almost, almost touch it.

Until a taxi door whipped open on the side of one of the streets she ran down. The smile on Maya's face soon faded as she noticed it too late.

A gasp escaped Maya's lips as she didn't quick stop in time, the door meeting her face as the impact made her fall back on her head, the blond falling backward and now laying on the concrete ground. A crowd of people surrounded her suddenly with concerned glances as Maya's eyes shut. Her eyes began to close as concerned mutters flooded around her.

Total blackness filled her vision as well as silence soon enough filling her ears, going from hearing concerned tones to hearing nothingness.

Maya felt like she fell to nowhere as her eyes fluttered open. Where was she? She glanced around but literally nothing was there. Moments later, the blond squinted her eyes, noticing a girl with strawberry blond hair. She was a couple of feet away but she looked frightened. "Stiles?" She called out, but no one answered her.

"Hello?" Maya called out to the girl. Slowly the girl turned and met eyes with the blonde, her face transitioning into fear as she opened her mouth, screaming like a banshee before disappearing into thin air. Who the hell was that?

"Maya Penelope Hart. I've missed you so much." Lucas smiled as he approached her. Maya stared at him in confusion as she looked around at the empty surroundings.

"Why do you miss me? You only saw me a couple of hours earlier."

"No, I mean I've missed the last ten years of you and I. Don't you remember?"  Lucas's sea-foam eyes poured into hers, still looking like the young Texan boy she first had fallen for.

"No, my memory was wiped. Don't you remember?" Lucas didn't reply to her, but grabbed a box from behind him. It was her grey time capsule box she had made in the 7th grade. Only, Maya didn't remember it at the moment. It was just a box to her. A smile drew his face before he held a key out in front of her.

He slowly unlocked the front of it, the two not breaking eye contact. "What-" she whispered before Lucas shook his head, opening the box up. Maya's eyes glowed from the shine within the box as she gasped once more, pressing her hand to her chest. It felt like every steady breath that went in and out of her had suddenly been sucked out. Her glossed eyes poured back into Lucas's as he took a step closer to her. Slowly with a slight hesitance, he brushed a strand of hair away from her eye, whispering, "remember me." His hand remained on the side of her cheek, sending an electrified spark through her veins and to her heart.
