21 year old Maya Hart sat at the bar, taking a sip of beer as she watched a bunch of dumbasses playing pool. The entertaining part was that they were both shit drunk, so they were holding the stick backwards while constantly shooting the white ball in countless times, instead of any other ones. She rolled her eyes as she turned her attention back to her book. Normally she wouldn't read in a bar by herself, but it was kind of relaxing and unwinding. There was no one really bothering at the moment, no bitch approaching her and trying to start some random argument. She flipped a page, and tucked a strand of blonde curl behind her ear. She normally spent her days as an editor at her job, but lately, nothing was worth editing. It was either writers block, or small emo poem revising from hormonal high school kids. Normally on nights like these, Maya Hart was bored and was also looking for a little bit of fun, though she wouldn't just announce it like some whore. She didn't do relationships. They didn't give her much besides that stupid miscommunicated attachment and that constant reminder of, you gotta make a commitment! personally customized just for her. Which is why she didn't mind have meaningless sex with a person for one night once in awhile. She had to make sure she was choosing the right boy. One who wouldn't be some creep or another who wouldn't get emotional. None of the boys she did ever gave her an emotional feel or attachment. So lately, the girl was having a bunch of fun.

She took another small sip of her beer as her attention drew to a boy entering the bar from the front. A smile gently shaped her lips as he approached the bar section, and glanced back to the bar, expecting him to talk to her. He sat down, ordered a beer and sat in silence. A small crease faintly appeared in the middle of her brows. He wasn't talking to her, or trying to sleep with her. This was new.
Well, it was her turn, then.
"Long night?" Maya turned to face him, leaning her elbow on the edge of the bar. The blonde guy looked up, his blue eyes meeting hers.
"Uh, yeah. Work is crazy." He said as the waiter set down his beer. The boy took the can of beer and poured it into the empty glass that was once facing down, and took a drink. He seemed like a very occupied man.
"So, you go here much?" A smile remained on her lips, tilting her head in curiosity. He shrugged, setting his small satchel next to him and taking out a notebook.
"Occasionally. But just to write." He turned his attention to her. "I'm a writer. Stay at home mostly. Still really draining." Maya wanted to frown. Great. She hated having stuff in common with people she was gonna end up in the sheets with.
"Interesting.." Maya trailed off. Oh fuck it, why not. "I'm an editor."
"Really?" His eyes brightened. "Maybe you can edit my story sometime."
"Mhm." She awkwardly mumbled. He was killing her vibe. "I'm Maya."
"Hey." The man smiled back. "I'm Lucas." They shook hands. Maya looked down at their exchange before he leaned his hand back. "Hopefully you don't mind me saying this," he leaned closer to her, causing her to smile again. "You don't seem like a girl who goes to bars. What are you looking for?"
A sparkle emphasized in her eyes. "A friend." One curve of her lips uplifted a little more. "I like making friends." Maya was sure Lucas caught onto what she was getting to as he nodded.
"I can tell. The vibe is practically hitting right off of you." He slyly spoke, moving his chair closer to hers. "Are you considering a friendship? I've befriended others before. They've wanted commitment almost every time. Never fails." As Lucas murmured, his hot breath was hitting her lips; a mixture of mint and beer together. Well, at least he cared about his hygiene.
"You don't have to worry. I'm not one of those girls." Maya cooed, her hands placed in her lap. "I think we'll have a great arrangement." And with that, he stood up as she did the same, and took her hand in his before they both walked out of the bar. "My place?" She said as they walked down the street. He nodded, a satisfied expression on his face.

It was still the same night, and not the next morning. They had just finished, and both were breathing hard. He remained on top of her, leaning down and giving her another hot set of kisses.  Maya was in absolute heaven. After Lucas leaned away just inches, Maya smiled.
"Not bad, Huckleberry." She purred, trailing her hand down his chest as it reached his happy trail. "Didn't know you had so much energy."
"I didn't know how much of a giver you were." He smirked as he leaned down and began to place kisses on her neck. A vibration sounded from her throat as his hands roamed down the sides of her.
"We should keep doing this." She managed to choke out as Maya felt her body heating up again. Lucas looked back at the woman beneath him, and tucked a strand of hair behind her ears, moving his fingers to caress her chin with his thumb.
"Can't get enough?" Personally, she really couldn't. Lucas was basically the perfect person to sleep with, due to the fact that he knew where her good spots were and that this man gave her so much more than anyone really had. And all she had to do was have meaningless, great sex.
"I think this would be great for the both of us." The woman responded, her breaths coming to a slow as he began kissing down her chest. "What do you think?" He looked back up at her and gave her another kiss before smirking satisfactorily.
"This could work."
"Deal."

So the agreement was made. They both had an understanding of what they both were, and had no issue sleeping together. They finally exchanged numbers so that they could message each other while at work, having regular conversations.. Most of the time besides a thing called Sexting, which Lucas showed her. Even when they weren't around each other, it was still always amazing. Their stress levels were never high, and working out their frustrations, ending with better moods made their lives a hell of a lot better.
After two wonderful months of this deal, Maya's friends wondered why she was mostly always in a good mood. And also why she could never hang out on some nights of the week. The nights she was specifically off to the world and closed to only one person.
One day Riley was hanging out with her when they were eating Chinese delivery at her apartment. "Maya, how come we don't hang out during the night? You never wanna go out, and I never sleep over anymore."
Maya looked up at her best friend. She supposed that Riley had a right to know, considering the fact that she never had asked, but certainly had noticed in the past. "I met someone two months ago."
"What?" Riley exclaimed. Maya shook her head, as if saying it wasn't what she was thinking.
"I don't have a boyfriend. We're friends with benefits."
"What?" Riley stared at her as if she just slapped a puppy.
Maya couldn't help but quip at a time like this. "Are you done being extremely shocked? You know I used to sleep around with people."
"But you lowered your number to just one person. That's what I'm absolutely stunned about. And besides the fact that he isn't a boyfriend figure yet."
Maya gave her a puzzled expression. "What do you mean?"
"Well, the fact that you said you guys were friends with benefits. That means you must know quite a bit about each other."
"I know that he's a writer and I'm an editor." Maya shrugged, eating a piece of sesame chicken. "There isn't much to it."
"There's everything to it. I'm surprised your sex lives haven't gone emotional yet."
"Sunshine, it's probably not going to be. We only like each other for our bodies and what they do to each other." Riley cringed as Maya laughed.
"Well, as long as you're happy peaches." Maya nodded, as they continued to talk about other things.

Maya gently nibbled at the skin on Lucas's neck as she held him closer to her. He made small sounds which Maya then knew she had him where she wanted him. He began leaving small kisses on her temple, hair, and anywhere he could really reach. A smile grew on her face in achievement as she continued pressing herself against him. They weren't having sex on this particular night-yet, because making out seemed a lot more fun for the two in this moment. She laid him down and continued kissing his neck, moving down toward his chest as her hands ran up his waist and torso. "Maya." He breathed quietly as she hushed him by covering her mouth over his once more. Something was a bit off about this night, and she couldn't tell. Probably the fact that they were going slow and steady instead of fast and hungry was different, and how everything felt so thorough in the way they both touched one another, kissed one another. It was as if their privates weren't the only thing tingling, but it was their hearts that had started sparking. His hand lowered and lowered below her stomach as Maya leaned into his touch. It settled on to her front, within her panties. A moan escaped from her lips. This caused him to bite down on his lip. Her noises drove him completely mad.
"That sound sounds so beautiful coming from you." He slid his hands up and down her sides, holding her close to him. "Maya, you're beautiful." The man leaned in and captured her lips again, caressing her face. Her heart raced within her chest, beating like a drum. Lucas didn't dare say more to her, knowing the agreement that was put between the two. But he had a bad feeling the more and more they did this. He grew to love it, and love her. The small conversation they would have before jumping each other, the after sex conversation about their fears and wishes, and the witty comments that the two would float around each other as they began to acknowledge each other in public.
Lucas began unbuttoning her silk black top, each buttoning popping as they separated, revealing a black bra. She pulled up his shirt, once again taken aback by the amount of muscle he had. Before he grabbed the girl to her, she laid a gentle hand on the middle of his chest, her vulnerability surfacing her face. She met his gaze with her light blue eyes. And from some odd reason, two words escaped her lips that she had never said to anyone before.
"Be gentle."
"I wouldn't have this any other way."
And with that, he attached their lips together as his arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her up against him.

Maya gently opened her eyes, a yawn escaping her bruised-kissed mouth. She felt arms wrapped around her waist, and just for a moment, he felt like a boyfriend. Savoring the moment, Maya snuggled closer to his body. Realizing what the promiscuous girl had just done, she refrained from flinching when she moved herself farther from him. She remembered where they stood. She felt him waking up from behind as his arms slipped from her waist, leaving them feeling cold. Maya took a careful breath before turning around and meeting his eyes.
"Morning." She murmured, feeling a weird sensation to kiss him good morning. Instead, he leaned in and kissed her softly before leaning back. Maya smiled as her cheeks changed. "You never do that."
"I wanted to try something new."
Maya's smile faded as she then sat up, feeling a peculiar twist in her stomach.
"I have to go." She found her bra which was on the floor, clasping it together before pulling her straps up as she threw her shirt on after. Lucas turned and watched her quizzically.
"So soon?" He sat up next to her as she pulled her leggings back on. "I could make breakfast." Maya met his eyes with red cheeks.
"I'm fine." She pulled on her boots before walking to the door and grabbing her jacket. Lucas rushed over, and stood in front of the door, only wearing pajama pants.
"Are you sure?" He almost was going to hold her hand, but he remembered where they stood. Maya glanced up at him again before nodding and leaving his apartment.

She rushed back home, feeling her heart tighten within her chest as the girl began feeling things-unfamiliar feelings. And the worst part about it, was that she didn't realize this was probably happening even before Riley had let her know. Tears left her cheeks as her brain filled with regret but l-may she dare say it? The L word.
Running up the stairs in pits of anger and confusion, Maya slammed the door behind her as she scrambled into the apartment. Katie was home, so she was allowed to slam her bedroom door and cry.
She opened the door to what she thought was an empty room, until she spotted her best friend sitting at her bay window. "Okay. What happened."
Maya winced as she held onto the door. "Jesus Riley. You scared the shit out of me." She complained as the girl threw her bra into her hamper. "How did you even know I was upset?"
"I was going to visit you anyway, but I've just noticed your tears, and your sex hair. So Lucas in a way upset you." Riley's expression hardened. "What did he do?"
"He ruined me! He ruined the whole point of hooking up, having fun and living in the moment of sex with some stranger." Maya angrily spoke, her voice cracking. "He made me have all these weird feelings and moments, and I barely even think he knows what his ass is doing."
"Has he said anything to you to make you feel this way?"
"No." Maya rolled her eyes. "God no, I'd be happy. But last night," she scratched the back of her neck. "I don't even know how to explain it. He consumed me, I consumed him, I just-"
Riley covered her face. "Jesus, I don't need an overview of your sex life."
"Okay I wasn't gonna get into detail. But I don't need to have feelings for this guy. He's just as sly and as intermediate in this game as I am. What is happening?" Maya groaned, rubbing her temples. "We didn't just have sex-we literally made.. Made.." She struggled to say the word.
"Love?" Riley finished instead. Maya nodded, avoiding her eyes.
"Yeah, that. That stupid thing that gets me in a shit ton of trouble."
"What're you doing here?" Riley shook her head in disbelief. "Do you have feelings for him?"
"I.. Well-"
"Maya, the truth. If you were talking to a wall and not caring what anyone thinks. Now go."
"I'm unconditionally, undeniably in love with Lucas Friar." She kept her eyes closed as the revelation escaped her mouth. It felt like venom escaping from the woman's lips.
"See? At least you know his last name." She elbowed her playfully.
Ding dong.
Maya arched a brow up as she stood up on her feet, walking to the door. As she wasn't looking at Riley, the mischievous brunette smiled and climbed out. She knew what was going to happen. Maya reached for the doorknob and greeted with blue eyes to blue eyes.
"No. You're not supposed to be here."
Lucas sighed in distress. "And I'm not supposed to have fallen for you."
Another tear rolled down her cheek. "Go away Lucas. Seriously, I mean it!" Each time she said for him to go, he took steps closer to her. "Lucas, stop or-" His face was dangerously close to her own. "O-r else." She stuttered, her words becoming mumbly and stuttery.
"Or else what?" He whispered, his hand gripping her waist.
She got the courage to glance up at his face. "Or I'll break your heart." Maya warned, causing him to smirk.
"I know what drives you crazy. I'm the only one who knows how to make you feel good."
"And I'm the one who keeps your crazy ass sanity down." Maya complained, folding her arms across her chest.
"We have a really great understanding on family life, we're broken but we need to feel. I know you've been dying to feel something. And I know you had. You wouldn't of stayed last night if you didn't have that in you."
She felt anger flowing through her veins as her hands vibrated with anger.
"Shut UP. Just be quiet." She hissed at the man. "You think you know you're shit, huh? You think you can just come here," Maya spoke in a stutter again. "And, and wrap your arms around me, and,-" His lips were so close to being on hers. "Expect me to feel that I've fallen in love-"
Gently, the boy leaned her against the wall as his lips touched hers. It was different, though. Nothing was crazy or rushed. His hands didn't immediately try to unbuckle her pants or anywhere sacred. They were cupped on her cheeks ever so softly and delicately. After leaning in for a while, he leaned out, breathing as if he'd ran a couple of laps. He had given her such a fast, yet intense and full of love, kiss. It's all he ever had in him. Besides the jungle of lustfulness and general sex crazed male, like Maya, there was a clean spot of hope and dreams. They both wanted to be wanted and loved for so long, so badly, that they tried feeling things with people that didn't give two shits about them. Maya didn't even speak as he leaned back. Her eyes stared into his, not knowing what to say at the moment.
"I've only expected you to fall in love, because it's what I did." He held her by her waist as she wanted nothing more but to lean against him. But something always held her back. "So what do you say? Do you want this to go farther with this unofficial thing?"
A smile appeared on Maya's face as she began to step closer to the boy, right then and there making her decision when she wrapped her arms around him, pressing her forehead to his as her eyes closed. Lucas smiled and closed his eyes as well. And then they knew what their next levels were.
