Evie's POV
"So what's up?" I ask Liam sliding into our booth at IHOP. We already ordered because every time we get the same thing plus the waitress recognized us.
"No. My story is gonna last a while. What's with you and stoner boy?" Ugh, I forgot that everyone saw him as a druggie still.
"He's not even a stoner..." I groan, earning me a raised eyebrow. I swear that eyebrow is gonna fall off someday. "His name is Ben Michaels..." I continue, "we did homework together last night. That's all."
"Alright," he started. "Now the truth..." Liam clearly didn't buy my story.
"Well I ran into him in the parking lot," Liam rolls his eyes at me, but I continue "and he came over, we did do homework, but we also watched a movie, ate pizza, and slow danced in my living room." Liam's eyes light up, eager to hear more. He's such a gossip whore.
"And then..." he urges me to continue.
"And then, nothing. Now tell me your story." I say eager to change the subject.
"Ok, so you know how Alex and I have been going out?"
"Yes?" I really don't know where this is going. Everyone thought that Liam and Alex would be the cutest couple, and they were. Apparently not now?
"Well he was over at my house, and his phone kept going off during scary movie night." Wow, Alex was ignoring scary movie night? He loves scary movies. Seeing that I'm not going to respond, Liam continues "He was texting someone named Tommi in his phone." I fake gasp in awe "No, Evie, you don't get it. There was a sparkly heart emoji next to the name. I think Alex is cheating on me."
"Well, do you know for sure what they were talking about?" I ask.
"Umm I saw some stuff about dates, and kissing, and other uncomfortable stuff to read on your boyfriend's phone that's not sent to you."
"Oh, umm, I don't know what to say. Communication is key? I don't know maybe just ask him about it-" I look up and gasp.
"What's wrong?" Liam asks looking around. I'm frozen in fear as I see Erik walking towards our booth. How did he know I was here?
"Hey sugar," He says sliding into the booth trapping me against the dividing wall. I try to push him away, to no avail.
"I'm not calling you sugar",Jared says to Liam sliding in next to him. Liam looks like a small child next to Jared.
"What're you doing here?" I demand. Erik looks surprised.
"We're going out, don't you remember Evie?" He whispers. He's uncomfortably close. If I can just get through this 'date' then everything will go back to normal.
"Fine" ,I say stubbornly.
"Watch your tone" Jared warns, sitting up, making himself look taller. As if he needed to in order to intimidate us.
We sit in awkward silence until the waitress comes back and hands Liam the check. He pays and breaks the silence.
"Well this has been fun, but Evelyn and I have plans for the rest of today. I do hope you've enjoyed this date with her." He tries to stand up, but Jared pushes him down.
"This is only the beginning" Erik sneers at Liam. He gets up and gestures Jared to join him. "We're going to be a cute couple" he says almost assuringly to me.
"As if" I roll my eyes and make a shooing gesture to Erik. He and Jared left. That was surprisingly easy.
Ben's POV
Evie had said something about spending all of Saturday out which made me kind of upset. I had wanted to hang out and catch up some more. I've resorted to gazing out my bedroom window that was just ober the garrage. I look around, studying the neighborhood. Then I see it. Liam's green car. I thought they were staying out all day? I'm just going to check up on her. If she doesn't want me around, then I'll leave.
